Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

This is odd. I expected something different, more in the vein of the first more introspective Rambo movie (a pity they didn't end that film with the alternative ending and his suicide - you can find it on YouTube). But I'll wait for the whole movie and pass judgement then.

A couple of months ago I read a great interview online which Stallone did with one of Germany's biggest newspapers (Süddeutsche Zeitung):

"I was an idiot."

http://www.sueddeutsche.de/kultur/artikel/807/98709/

He admitted that he became megalomaniac after the success of the first Rocky movie and the following crude Rocky and Rambo flicks were the consequence. But he has contractual obligations, so he has to do a final Rambo movie...

SZ: Sie drehen jetzt bald tatsächlich einen finalen "Rambo", richtig?

Stallone: Richtig. Ich muss.

SZ: Sie müssen?

Stallone: Vertrag. Ich schulde der Filmfirma noch einen. . . . Aber die werden sich wundern.

SZ: Wieso?

So was in der Art. Oder? Na, vergessen Sie’s.

that german interview makes as much sense to me as the dude being gibbed down to jello on the trailer

Funniest thing (even funnier than the head being "punched off") is the totally excessive violence when he shoots the dude with an arrow, and then the arrow explodes

i for one say we do need some excessive violence once in a while?
why not? the new generation of actors arent all too good at filling the shoes of the arnold and sly of the 80's

Guy's like Matt Damon make convincing roles in bourne identity, and yet it doesnt fullfill what stupid violence testosterone induced rampage we had back in the 80's
and while that brand of 80's movie isnt something i'd like to see all the time in every movie, i think that once in a while it can be interesting

as for rambo 4, i will see it, but it wont take it seriously
