And by doing so, Satriani would get sued by Prince, causing him to learn about how much of an ass he looks like suing Coldplay. So, when it all comes down to it, Prince wins. But he rules, anyway, so thats a given.

Both Satriani and Coldplay have written some pretty boring stuff, and they have written some great stuff, too, but Satriani hasn't broken any new ground or done anything breath-taking for ten years or more. Coldplay just released a huge (but not perfect) album not too long ago that sounds great, IMO, and captures them truly in their element. Plus, I saw Satriani live (I really only went to see Eric Johnson open for him), and I literally almost feel asleep. I was three rows back from the stage, the bass was cranked, and Joe took every opportunity to hold a high note that he could, and I still caught myself dozing. So basically, I'm rooting for Coldplay with this one. But if Prince does step in, he's definitely got my vote. 8)

my take - shame on satriani for suing; shame on both for writing shitty music.

+1

this melody sounds like something off "hits by numbers" handbook.

having said that, i think satch has a case. if he took them to court i think he would win. coldplay would be wise to settle.
