That's Scientology you're thinking of there. Scientology.

It's just a gentlemen's club. There's nothing kooky about it whatsoever; they meet up, do their silly reenactments, do fucktons for charity, occasionally have sit down dindins. I've been to a number of Masonic Halls, the local one has a pub inside! The Masonic Headquarters in Covent Garden is also open to the public. Any strange happenings you hear of are either elaborated from the truth, or someone's having a giraffe at your expense. It's a religion and politics free society that practices morality. There's a whole bunch of secret organisations that are totally unrelated to but are mistaken for masonary; some might still exist, who knows.

In regards to having higher power; it's nothing sinister, it's just simple networking-
For instance, I wanted a backstage pass for Bloodstock last summer, and because I became friends with a guy at Download several years ago who later became Artist Liason for BOA, I was able to obtain one easy peasy.
Now; my house was broken into two years ago. And the investigation was taking a raaaaather long time. Fortunately one of the superintendents at Sutton Police Station also happened to be a member of my dad's lodge; he had a few words with him and before I knew it, I had a phonecall from the DC in charge of the investigation asking me to identify a camera.
Same situation of "I want something and I know someone who can help me with this."

Of course there's going to be some sort of influence within places, that's because there's so many fucking masons who know each other and do favours for each other. It's no different to me saying to someone in a Dev gig queue "You're on the forum therefore I like you and will offer you some grapes."

...And considering my dad can't even keep his pin number secret from me, you bet your boots he's not keeping much else hidden :P

Madame Blavatsky? Hahaha.

Puh-leaze. If you're going to follow occult fraudsters at least Crowley did some fun stuff - like causing women he had never met before to have spontaneous sex with him in the British Library (which was pretty rock n' roll for those days).

mrbean - I thought you were a Muslim?

Yeah, I'm not the most ardent Theosophist out there... I just use it to extent my own stupid cosmological beliefs which you don't get in Christianity. My cousin turned my onto it as a means of introducing Esoteric Christianity, which is kind of a cross between Christianity and Indian faiths, teaching that everyone can achieve a unity with the "Christ-consciousness." Theosophy's co-founder Annie Besant formed this idea, turning away from Blavathoax.

And, no, I'm not actually a Muslim. That hat is just a funny thing I bought a while back. Although I do have the utmost love and respect for Islam.

Look no further than 32nd and 33rd degree masons holding high positions of power in just about every facet that has influence your day to day life - finances, entertainment, politics, religion, etc. And although I am not a mason, many 32-33 degree masons have become ex-masons to expose some of what they know and their agenda. And they end up dead, in jail, or insane. A lot of the people who put together important pieces of information with any sort of public influence, ex-CIA, ex-MI5/MI6 (British CIA), investigative journalists who come out with information have either been put in jail or killed, particularly people who are Christians. A lot of the "truthers" out there right now, like Alex Jones and David Icke (freemason), are not Christians and spread a lot of misinformation and glaze over a lot of important topics.

On the surface, of course it's just a gentleman's club. And for most masons, that's all it will ever be. Look into the history of freemasonry and what some America's early political figures had to say about the threat of masonry on the stability of the USA. Here's a quote from Albert Pike (a prominent freemason and wrote in a letter to his friend in the Club of Rome how the 3 world wars would play out.. in 1870).
General Albert Pike, in Morals & Dogma writes:

“…symbols are displayed to the initiate but he is intentionally misled by false interpretations, It is not intended that he shall understand them but it is intended that he shall IMAGINE that he shall understand them…”

Yeah, they do do a lot of charity, don't they? However, examine where the money is going. Always follow the money. Apparently something like 1-2% of the money goes to non-masons.

There are power-hungry freaks in every human organization. What to do about it? Well, my biggest hero in the world was a freemason. My grandfather, and he was an individual and he might have been the only one to instill such a perfect wisdom to me in my early life. Anyway he just knew something. And I am blessed for that.

There you go again. Apparently Lady Gaga also has a dick. How do I know this? Internet. Have I seen her nether regions? No I have not. BUT because I read it somwhere, I have full confidence that this information is factual. You're not a mason, you read shit on the internet.

Of course you do. That was subliminal, and you are a good sheep and respond to subliminal messages. H D R. Seriously though, I started this topic pretty open ended for discussion, it just got hijacked into one direction. Keep regulating, friend ;)

Re Lady Gaga: It seems that if something is obvious and in the mainstream media, it couldn't possibly be part of a larger agenda. That's exactly the fuckin' point, you are conditioned to accept this shit whether it is spoon fed to you or it is more subtle. Look into who owns the big media corporations. Follow the money. Did you know that if you play a Lady Gaga record backwards it will sound better?? (or you will hear some intentional back masking). I don't really care if she has a dick or not, but she certainly isn't shy with her interest in penises.. she was on a Canadian talk show wearing dildos for heels. Also she has claimed to be a shape shifter with shoulder blades that pop out when she's excited, saying she was 'Born this way'.

You know what really grinds my gears? Katy Perry. That ET video is full of illuminati symbols. Not to mention she appears as Baphomet at the end.. Katy Perry's husband is Russel Brand, the tall guy from Get Him To the Greek. He's interested in the reptilian stuff and has done radio show interviews with David Icke.

Like I said, the majority of charity goes to other masons or mason causes. It's a tax free way of moving money around. I have no doubt that there are some worthy organizations that receive money from freemasons, but it's PR and pennies compared to where the majority goes.

The internet is just a way of having access to information that would have been difficult to obtain without it or possibly even unavailable. If the information is from credible sources it doesn't matter where you get it.

By the way, I'm not saying everyone involved with masonry is a Satan worshiping puppet. There may even be entire lodges that are innocent. And I'm sure your dad and lunarsea's grandfather are/were great men.

Because nobody posted the Stonecutters vid:

(Now that it's probably not relevant)

I wonder sometimes about religious influence through hypnosis, or post hypnotic suggestion. It might explain why some people can still be convinced to partake in an exorcism (and be exorcised, for that matter). I bring this up after reading about John Safran's new series on religion and pop culture, and his thought that perhaps he was hypnotized during his infamous exorcism by Bob Larson (who we all know is a very reliable source of information in Christianity and spiritual matters). Any thoughts?

How about making some conclusions instead of just posting random observations? What does the above say about Lady Gaga? That she's weird? That she's a freemason? That she's the puppet master of global leaders? What about Katy Perry? Is she a freemason? Is she a puppet master? You're making a lot of noise without saying anything.

Follow the money. Sure. Do you have insight in all their bank accounts? If so, I'm sure there are some organisations who'd like to have a word with you about that.

The internet is rarely a credible source. You doubt everyone and everything that is mainstream or commonly accepted to be truth, yet what you find on the internet on conspiracy sites you hold to be true without question. Do you not see the irony?

My final and perhaps most important point: you tend to say everyone else is wrong without backing it up with verifiable arguments (preferably from credible sources). In this way it's not a discussion, but in my view you're simply trolling. At which point I have to remind you of our board rules, specifically rules 5 and 6.

HURPDEDURP Someone who uses the internet to access information hasn't even read the internet based information I have provided!

Masonic Charity

Freemasonry is second only to the National lottery in the amount of its charitable donations.

Freemasonry has been concerned with the care of children, those who are ill and the care of older people, from its earliest days. This work continues today amongst its own members and their dependents. More than 50% of the funds raised by Masons for charity are given to non-Masonic national and local charities in support of their work for the benefit of non-masons, local communities and society in general. This includes long term funding for medical research posts such as prostate cancer.

There are four national Masonic Charities:

• The Freemasons’ Grand Charity
• The Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys
• The Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution
• The Masonic Samaritan Fund

All of the funds disbursed by these national Masonic charities are raised directly by local Lodge members and their families. All charity contributions are at the sole discretion of individual members. No contributions are collected from the public. Each of the national Masonic charities has its own charitable objects for specific purposes.

Now, the Masonic charities that >50% of the money does go to...do you even know what a Masonic charity is? Maybe...a charity...founded BY Masons? Sure, they have carehomes for retired Masons funded by Masons, schools for children of deceased Masons funded by Masons, and donate a fair wack of money to widows of deceased Masons, whilst every single penny that every lodge raises goes to the charities with no overheads....but I wouldn't really call that tax dodging.

Oh, and DID YOU KNOW that when the earthquake hit New Zealand; The Grand Lodge had already wired over £750,000 while the British Government were still deciding how much to send?

I'm sorry, whilst I am a girl (thus not actually allowed to be a member), Masonary is a major major part of mine and my family's lives. Moreso than any religion. Nothing rages me more than seeing an organisation like that being given bad wrap by someone who has nothing better to do with their life than to believe everything is an evil cover up.

Lawl, I'm the sheep when there's a lad who just had his first semester of college and totally just discovered critical thinking for the first time.

You know who I don't trust? Anyone who claims to "know" the answers to life's large questions.

Does anyone else find the irony in oppuld posting all of these topics and joining these forums around the release of Deconstruction which basically tears apart this very kind of of self-righteous intellectual masturbation?

I sure would love to live in a world of a series of anarcho-syndicalist communities where we all truly know each other and take our weekly turn on the energy-cycle that pedals to start our great wind machine that powers our own little village. But that's not the world we live in.

This level of indignation, though truly well meaning, hardly differs from proselytizing route of trying to open the eyes of others by dismantling the truths they themselves hold. It's insulting, and reeks of amateur, post-adolescent arrogance.

It's not that these kind of topics don't work, it's just that they don't work when parties involved insult the concepts and ideologies of others and in turn hold their breath until they turn blue when challenged.

Locked.
