You just described Dream Theater. Even if they aren't your cup of tea, they have done this...and flawlessly to boot.

I listened to "Scenes From a Memory" from start to finish. While it was not a bad album, and Petrucci definitely held back with solos, I still wouldn't say it has the same level of intensity either of BTBAM's last 2 albums have.

Just dont think I will ever be a Dream Theater fan.

Man, I'm feeling down tonight. Completely unmotivated to do anything. Except go and buy an apple pie and eat it all. And even then it sounds like a chore. Got loads of work to do, and am missing a night out to "do it". Feels like I've been taking far too many off-days lately.

Pie is good, but I think this is sounder advice, courtesy of Stephen Lynch:

Hahaha!! Oh dear. I think the pie has less right to life. I'm gonna fuck that pie up real bad. Me, the pie, outside. Now. Yeah, like that.

(A kitten to cuddle would make everything better. I'm girly like that. :D )

I feel like this quite a bit. Sometimes I want to just say "fuck it", give all my musical projects a break, skip school, and be able to RELAX for one day....ALL DAY. I guess maybe what I feel is opposite of you though. The more work I take on, the more down I get because my serenity level is out the door. I have no time to appreciate anything. Weird.

I'm absolutely overloaded with work, I'm trying to plough through some Old English grammar work, and it's making fuck all sense. And I'm hardly clueless about languages and grammar, it's just I simply can't get my head around it all. I've been in tears tonight, over everything. I just really want to talk to my other half, but he's busy.

If I could take an evening off, I would. Hell, times like this, I wonder why the fuck I'm at university racking up debt for no good reason..

Wait now, are you actually learning to speak that mumbo-jumbo? I did that stuff in college last year, got my head around the Chaucerian Middle English alright and quite enjoyed it, but Beowulf and the Ye Olde crap was impossible. My lecturer could speak it fluently and would often burst into Old English in the middle of lectures, unfailingly bringing a round of jaw-to-floors for all 500 of us in the room trying to figure out what vomit just fell out of her gob.

I can relate to the overwhelmingness of having too much shit to do that you and Dan gots going on. I'm working quite a bit recently, intermingled with college hours, I've 4 essays due plus an archaeology exam in the next 6 weeks and every now and again it smacks me that I'm waaaay behind but can't be motivated to do sweet fuck all cos I'm so damn lazy.

Ugh.

Where's that fucking kitten...

Damn right. I really wanted to learn how to speak it fluently, but with the biggest fuckload of irony possible, the very classes that are TEACHING me how to speak it are the ones that are making me hate it.

(Also... who's Dan??)

I am so tired from training from my new job (Nintendo promotions. WHOOP WHOOP. Now I can buy more xbox games! What?) I have to write a script for class tomorrow, so I need to decide between working on it tonight and falling asleep while doing it or waking up and hammering it out.

Decisions.
