When I originally posted it, I couldn't find anything to suggest it was a hoax, other than the fact that it's just so incredibly big. Doug the digger may just be the coolest thing mankind has ever built.

Some of the stuff in those Korean shipyards is pretty spectacular too. I'll see if I can find any pics online.
