I blame all the stupid people that they put on TV shows, it's definitely what fuels the stereotype the most. For me, anyway. But then again I was a student at an American school for a year and I met alot of stupid people there too. Because of course no other nationalities have stupid people.

If you wanna see the bottom of England, just watch "The Jeremy Kyle Show" :?

Or Eastenders. Or indeed any of the depressing, lowest common denominator shows. :(

Too true. :(

I get tired of the anti-American sentiment, because it's a vulgar assumption that everyone here is even remotely alike.

I hate the crusading Christian morons as much as anyone else, and it's completely absurd that you're going to assume I'm anything like a Texan, or for that matter that every Texan is like George W Bush.

Mind you, I'm on the first plane out of here if someone like Sarah Palin takes office.

We all have our own customs and generalities, and while it's true our government does some REALLY STUPID SHIT, no one can toss a stone in their glass houses. We are all human, and we all do incredibly stupid things.

And at least we can say something if we think our government is doing something wrong/stupid. Or we used to, before Obama got in office. Now if you speak out against what they are doing you're "a misinformed idiot".

well, suppose it was not any different when GWB was in office. As far as I heard Americans that spoke out against him were considered 'unamerican' for quite a while. So I suppose that can't be generalized like that.

aside from that I don't think anyone on here is anti-american or anti-european or whatever anyways.

Great point.

Oh I know. It was just the opposite side of the aisle. But now the government is much more vocal about those who speak out against them.

Either way it's stupid that the government thinks they have so much right to do such things. Our Constitution definitely allows us to vocalize our opinions on anything.

Jeez guys. All I was saying was that sometimes I feel insanely alone because everyone I know, even the educated...were watching the stupid super bowl. Maybe I overreacted. Fuck it. I am glad it's overwith, although I wish I woulda bet on it cuz my best friend won $100.

Tell me about it. It's at this point in time I regret being friends with so many americans, hah!

It took THAT to elicit that response? Ho boy, there's SO much to hate Americans for!

Except me. People love me and my uber-mericaness.

I love America and Americans for the most part. There's always morons in every country. New Zealand's full of them, unfortunately....

oh cool...were you stationed here or was your pa stationed here or? Wonder if you speak any German still then...heh.

My dad was. Frankfurt, Baumholder and Schweinfurt. Loved the Wurzburg area to death. Haven't been since 1990, and I've forgotten too much to be useful. I did speak conversational German as a kid, but it's just been too long. *sigh*

I used to DJ there quite often back in the day. Wurzburg is cool. Frankfurt is soulless hole. Heidelberg is groovy.

I'd love to remove Jeremy Kyle, Trisha etc. from television. Stop gloryifying these ASBO twats and put on something decent. Same goes for that phone-in quiz bollocks that always seems to be on when I get my 3am break.
