Alright, so last night I watched "American Beauty" for the first time and I was blown away, I couldnt even sleep that night. One of the best and most beautifully directed films I have seen in a long while, a must have for the collection.

No, I'm not stalking you. Just agreeing... again.

It's not a perfect movie, but I stumbled out of the theatre when I saw American Beauty, thinking about the world a little differently. The only other film that ever did that to me was Blade Runner and that was more of a slow burner that has eventually become my favourite film.

if anyone hasn't seen either of these films, please see them and tell me what you think.

I watched Oldboy few days ago and it was simply awesome. I liked Ichi also but imo Oldboy was better.
The last movie I saw was Crank http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0479884/. I was surprised how good the movie was. I just tought it was another boring movie when I got it. The whole movie is just pure awesomness.

Cars.

Amusing Pixar/Disney movie. A selfish character learns the value of friendship and loyalty story. Fine for the kids.

PS. I vaguely remember watching American Beauty and didn't like it that much at all, I've even forgotten most of the storyline which tells me it had little impact on me. Bladerunner on the other hand...

Blade Runner is just all kinds of awesome. The whole atmosphere of the movie is so beautiful and haunting. Even after all these years (1982) it's still incredible. Gotta love the Vangelis soundtrack. :)

Yep, I love this movie a bit.

Hancock.

SOOOOOOOOOO disappointing! Really really let down by this movie. Had such great hopes cos I always enjoy Will Smith films. And while he was good, the plot, the pace, the other characters.. All just so banal and uninteresting. When I initially saw it was only 92 minutes long I was kinda sad but when it was about half-way through and starting to plod painfully I was feeling relieved about the length. My advice would definitely be to avoid..

Taxi Driver.

Not bad, but I'm not sure why all the praise about that movie, some say it's Scorcese's best movie and De Niro's best performance ?
Maybe it had quite an impact in the US when it came out cuz' it talks about mental instability related to war, and nicely depicts lonelyness (2 things that are still pretty actual though).

But De Niro's best perf' or not, I find his character quite flat anyway with lot of vague sight and narrator's voice.

Oh god, I fuckin' love you! That is one of my alltime favorite movie scenes! There's a naked chick, a zombie and a shark...and the zombie even tries to eat the shark!! It can't get any better than that!

Rented KM31 last night, spanish horror flick that borrows way too much from other movies. Not worth the time.

3/10
