Huurah for all the Blade Runner love here. It's the bestest. You could release it today and it would stand up magnificently. Totally timeless classic. Well, apart from the Pan Am signs, and one or two other little 80s moments. The dubbing in the petshop confrontation scene is terrible.

But I digress! Blade Runner for Prime Minister, President and... um... High Priestess. Or something.

Dude, I nearly cried watching the trailer, so God knows how I'll cope with the movie!

Phew! I'm not the only one.^

I really want to see Wall-e, but apparently I'm breaking my 5-year dry spell of theater movies with The Dark Knight this weekend. I'm looking forward to it! 8)

The Dark Knight was a definite win. Great sequel to Batman Begins. Though it felt like it dragged on for a bit, it wasnt boring at all...

I've watched a few lately. Let's start with the bad.

Grindhouse ---> LOL!! Where to begin? Pointless dialogue. Useless stories. Lame ending. What is the point of this film? Ok, I do understand what it was trying to achieve, but it failed miserably. Or did it succeed? :? I waste no more finger energy on this bowl of shite.

Now for the good.

Survive Style 5+ ---> This is a very creative and visually beautiful Japanese film that is so damn fun to watch. It isn't a very deep film, but for all its wackiness, there is sentiment to be found. Well done.

A Scene at the Sea ---> A minimalist film by the great Takeshi Kitano. Not my favorite TK film, but definitely worth watching, especially if you like a peaceful yet touching experience.

Is anyone else familiar with Takeshi Kitano?

holy shiet, so freakin unsettling and an awesome soundtrack

loved it

You should watch the Hungarian movie Kontroll. The mood is somewhat similar, but I find the film far superior to The Machinist, which disappointed me in the end.

The Dark Knight was wow. And extra wow in IMAX.

I'm a huge movie buff, so maybe I'll get around to talking about them around here sometime.

That's rather incredible movie, indeed.

Wall-E

Excellent. The little references to 2001 and Silent Running were fun. Also the 'Presto' short film before the main feature was hilarious. It was very much like the proper Tom & Jerry cartoons from the 40s. Some real laugh out loud moments.
