It was someone's birthday? That's cool.

I hate the holidays. I feel like such a Scrooge. But this time of year just kills me.

I feel similar - these holidays bring out so much forced sweetness I feel like I'll contract diabetes, and I'm proud to bah-humbug my way through them. My birthday's around the corner as well, though every year I care a little less. Such a happy person, no?

Holidays suck if your past a certain age, and dont have kids, there is just nothing special about it anymore.
I get a few days off work, so thats good, but then I'm travelling all over the place, sleeping on couches or sleeping bags or worst... everybody gets drunk so they can try to have some fun, but then I don't drink and thats always akward. Not to mention that the holiday food here is usually just so very plain and uninteresting.
We got people that are offended if you give them presents, as they are anti-commercialism, and other with lists of what they want with detailled instructions.
Its just not fun/special/entertaining anymore, and even worst it's set in the mushy slush of winter snow.

Do something for someone else. You'll feel the specialness of that, and that's really what it should be about anyway: EVERYONE having at least one warm smile. 'Cause a lot of people get left in the gutters in the hustle bustle of the "holidays".

Well I made a special gift for my 4 year old niece, so I'm hoping that will keep me in the Xmas game.
Its a princess dress, and I made a special shiny box to store it in, hopefully that makes her happy. Last year she had no interest in the gifts, she only wanted to shred the wrapping paper.
