Happy Birthday Billy!
I have a map to the Kingdom but was forced to surrender the keys.

Its not just Asthma in a sense, but a lot of conditions. I had a heart condition earlier in the year and the responses I had off people who weren't closest friends and family was a "Ah thats lovely..........so?"
Makes your blood boil, which considering the mess I was in was counter-productive![]()
But give your son my regards and let him know there are others that share the pain
I was hospitalized for a large portion of my childhood due to asthma. This was before inhalers were around, so I was totally restricted in what I was allowed to due as a child. If I had a mild attack then I took this syrup called Marax. If that didn't help, or if the attack was severe (which they often were), I was hospitalized. So, no running, excessive laughing, or anything that may trigger an attack. It didn't take much.
Yeah, asthma isn't fun. I'm at a point in my life where mine is much, much better, but there was so much damage to my lungs as a child that I will always have some issues, and it will probably worsen again as I get older.
My son has asthma as well, but his not that bad and can be easily managed.
I think the problem with how asthma is perceived by others who don't have it is due to the fact that everyone knows someone with asthma, and in most cases it isn't that severe or life-threatening. They see someone having a severe attack, and they don't get it. "Billy has asthma, and he doesn't act like that."
Just don't let the ignorance of others get you down. It will always be there, so all you can do is take care of yourself and press on.

Had to go to hospital last night because it became too rough but I got discharged this morning. Feeling better but thats not saying much. I have a touch-wood feeling the worst may be over. Here's hoping.
Thanks again
