Star Trek

Was very good, awesome cameo from Leonard Nimoy! Good movie for anyone who has an interest in astrophysics and space in general, it had some damn good special effects too. The story could be a little hard to follow if you miss just a few seconds of the movie(namely at key points though)

Watched Crank the other day. Typical Jason Statham affair. Lots of ridiculousness and bullets with an awful plot but ultimately leaves you entertained and smiling. :)

New Star Trek It was ok, some pretty good characters. Eric Bana was little dissapointing as bad guy, not deep enough. Still, not his fault, I point my finger to script. And I bet we can expect a bunch of new era Star Trek movies to come, as this seem to be case with James Bond for example. Keep 'em coming

I saw Star Trek a few days ago too, and loved it. The effects were far and away the best I've seen in a ST movie, and the action/comedy element worked beautifully without detracting from the story. Also got to see the Terminator and Transformers trailers on the big screen which was nice.

I'm with you on the Eric Bana thing. They gave him almost nothing to work with, so I'm suprised that he actually accepted the role. Still an excellent actor in the right role though, and he at least looked menacing, despite being given sweet FA to say. That said, the focus was well and truly on the personal story arc of the good guys, particularly Spock and Kirk. The guys playing Spock, Kirk and Bones were all exellent, especially Zachary Quinto as Spock. For a guy that didn't look like Spock beforehand, I found him completely believeable and very charismatic, in that green-blooded hobgoblin kinda way. Nice touch with Leonard Nimoy too. Karl Urban and Simon Pegg looked like they were having fun hamming it up as Bones and Scotty. Go Peggy!

And the new Uhura.... I approve.

I really enjoyed it, but I think they made it very "friendly" for all audiences, so I bet the trekkie geeks are raging at it.

I don't think so. Nerds applauding.

Star Trek.
I enjoyed it. I thought it was a well executed, sci-fi/action film.
Typical slick, blockbuster with the mass appeal but thats not a bad thing I guess. I'm not a big trekkie, I wondered how true it was to that universe. Special effects were brilliant and Uhura was hot!

Nick gives it 8/10 :-)
