I was about eight or nine years old when I got mine, and I played for hours and hours and hours.

I disagree with calling Kung Fu the best game ever, but at least it was one of the few games I completely mastered. Great sound effects when you kicked or punched

I'll stop commenting on that

But this thread makes me want to free my old NES (glad I never sold it) from all the dust - although I should find it first! - and play some of the old games again. I feel fucking old now that I type this, but I think that it's mainly this nostalgic feeling that starts creeping through my body which is responsible for this desire.

Damn I regret selling my NES. :( Days and days of joy it brought to my pre-teen years. Blaster master, Batman, TMNT, Castlevania, Gradius, Mega man, the Mario trilogy...

Whenever I get myself a flatscreen tv, the old fat 32" one will be dedicated to a game room. Just gotta buy back all the goodies.

does anyones nes still function properly....mine was fairly good i took care of it but it started requiring a lot of blowing on the cartridge and in the nes and the last time i tried some games still didnt work properly after a lot of blowing.

so i dont know why so many games would be worth so much when the technology is aging like this...i suppose they could be cleaned professionally and have parts replaced and stuff but geez seems like the (legal) way would be to reissue the games on those like 100 in one cartridges for the latest nes console whatever that is

Mine does. Or should I say "did"? Anyway, the last time I played games on it (probably somewhen last year), everything was fine.

Btw, although I'm not a huge video/ computer games fan, I wouldn't mind playing some games on the Wii. The idea of moving your controller seems to be pretty funny.

Is is fun. Great fun. Wii Sports alone is worth the price.

Just buy a Wii. You'll be able to download old NES games, for pete's sake.

I'll be buying a Wii for sure... what a beautiful piece of kit it is. When the Gamecube came out and pretty much flopped, I thought my beloved Nintendo might end up producing software only. Thankfully they've returned to their visionary ways... the Wii just looks like it's ridiculously fun to use and the software will, as always, be amazing.

Nintendo: Possibly the only corporate body i have genuine affection for.*

*This opinion was not paid for in any way, shape or form, but should Nintendo wish me to receive obscene amounts of cash to endorse their products, I'm open to offers.
