I've never been a big fan of the band but this sounded cool in my ears. It's a bit different but still typically them.

I was surprised this was aired on the radio, which radio station was it? Does anyone know?

Cool song. Absolutely terrible sound quality/mix!

Guitars are upfront but sound like shit. Drums are buried, vocals are kinda in the background too. Just weird.

I'm sure the real thing is gonna sound alot better than this, well it has to be. But i hope the mix is more balanced on the real thing.

Yeah has to be. This is just compressed to hell. You can tell when the drums and vocals pause and there's only guitar...the guitar jumps in volume. I'm sure the real thing is gonna sound WAY better.

The tune is pretty cool IMO.

As I said on other forums, it's a nice song. Hopefully there will be more variance in the other songs of the album, as I don't think this song would last for a longer time, being mostly the same theme from the beginning to the end.

Yeah, because I've heard radio rips before, and it has to do with the radio itself, and the persons soundcard that is capturing the audio. In the end theres a lot of compression, not to mention FM itself just makes the song a itty bitty compressed in the first place.

Meshuggah have always been one to draw on a theme throughout a song. Listen to Catch 33?

From what i've heard from people who have heard the album there is a good amount of variance throughout. They said some of the later songs in the album have more of a "Nothing" feel

Here's a quote from the Offical Meshuggah Forum of a member who was at the listening party in LA

Heard it last night at the listening party over at NRG Studios. Many notables there including Gene Hoglan and Raymond Herrera. The later was paying very close attention to the entire album, every beat, as was I. The album is remarkable overall, with more dynamics. Still once past the 1/2 mark it's evident they delve into the more Nothing based vibes, but it's clean and mean, with much less hypnotic repetitions as in Catch 33 or I. Still there was an I vibe to the production, mixed with DEI. Excellent tones and great balance of everything, along with DEI the best production, which Marten agreed with. I chatted with him for quite some time about the 8 strings and how they got used to the new ones Ibanez made for them, etc. Also chatted a bit with Tomas, the only other band member there. It was a true honor to meet those guys and they were uber nice and forthcoming with info and enthusiasm about the new CD.

There are more brutal parts in the mix contrasting the prodding and "lethargic" tracks. Again, there's more variety in this effort and I welcome it!!

(Not that there's much difference)

Got Bleed on repeat. Love it, kinda hypnotic after a while.
I is my favourite Meshuggah 'song' so anything like that will get a thumbs up from me.

Yes. That's why I don't like it as much as I like I, Chaosphere and DEI. Even while I is a single long song, it never stagnates to monotony and repetition. And it's mostly fast tempos too, while Catch 33 was almost entirely midtempo.
