exactly so why bother watching the OC with vamprires?

What's OC? ... (I've never seen Dawson's Creek either but have a vague idea of what it is)

It's a show about rich teenagers in Orange County, California who are living and trying to fit in a majorly high-class society and therefore meant to be better than everyone but OMG THEIR LIVES ARE SOOOOOO HAAAAAARD.

Truth.

Most movies have stuff that's not real. So why bother watching?

That's the point though... we all love stories. Movies are (usually) stories. Fantasy and escapism is good for us, as with all things, in moderation. :D

I, for one, am looking forward to the next Transformers movie for some OTT escapism.

Firstly, the last movie I saw was Romero's "Martin" for the hundredth time.

Secondly, to chip in my two pence on the running discusscion....well, mythological vamps don't exist, but there's plenty of people out there claiming to have Renfiled's or some such affliction.... :coucou:

I just went and saw Drag Me To Hell. Sam Raimi's return to the horror genre.
It was great!
It had the mix of humour/gore/jumps that the Evil Dead trilogy had. The film was pretty fast paced so no time to get bored.
It was one bit that made you jump followed by another. Plus some really gross bits and a great use of sound.

I'd recommend a watch.

I've never watched the OC or Dawson's Creek. OH the CONTROVERSY in this thread.

Watched Wall-E again last night. Something tells me that movie isn't real either, but I still love it. Really, why watch TV sitcoms, or cartoons, or read fictional books if they're not real either? Gimme a break.

This is why I haven't been to an actual theater in 6 years.

^ Yup yup.

Not to sound like a bitch, but that really is the worst, Zyprexa :?

I saw Misery the other day. It was quite a good movie, suspenseful, creepy, unnerving, entertaining. I love movies like that.
I find some of the creepiest movies are those that aren't over-the-top violent; and take place in one room. Think Rear Window. Or Dial "M" for Murder.

I just got back home from watching Terminator Salvation aaaaaaaand....it kicked ass! I mean, why are all the so called "critics" bashing the crap out of it? Because Aaaahrnold ain't in it? Well, news flash...Arnold is old...and Arnold is fat...now of course Stallone is old and fat too, you might say. But he ain't busy signing death sentences in California. So give some new people a chance. And they deserve it. The actors did a good job. Yes, maybe not every bit of acting was Oscar material but hey, this is an action flick after all and no drama. Bale was very good actually, but then again he is in most of his movies. I mean, this is basically somewhat of a reboot of the franchise. It just wouldn't have worked to make another T1-3 style movie and hey, if you're a fan of the franchise then you always wanted to actually see the war against the machines too. Yes, it had its cheesy moments but they didn't ruin the movie by any means. So yeah...I really loved it. It's what I wanted to see since I was a little shitty kid. I'll give it a 9/10.

Fortunately people get chucked out of the cinema if they make too much noise here. Either that or some big fella will go sit beside them and quietly, but sincerely, recommend they behave before the rest of the audience suffocates them with popcorn. :P

Also I watched Dial M for Murder at the weekend. Dated, yeah, but still very enjoyable.

Went to see Coraline yesterday and thought it was awesome. Visually stunning and had a really patient narrative. 5/5
Was in 3D too, which I figured mite be a gimic, but it worked really well.

Which reminds me...

It was awesome wasn't it? I'm a big Raimi fan, and I wasn't dissapointed. It seems like horror just comes so naturally to him. I really hope he does some more horror in the future, I'm sick of all the awful horror remakes.

Check out Drag Me to Hell, guys, extremely entertaining.

Yea, we all love stories...but not all of us love love stories. I, for one, absolutely hate when a good action movie is brought down by a shitty love story tie in. Thats why I loved the Hitman movie, they poked at the whole "love" aspect but shot it down repeatedly keeping true to the games. Love stories in action movies tend to be thrown in most of the time. Sometime's its relevant in suspenseful action movies, but not in all of them.
