Looks like I missed the Transformers chatter....but I'll bite anyway.

I saw it at the IMAX in Chicago. This was the first time I have ever seen a film in this capacity....and I must say TF2 was probably the best possible choice for an IMAX virgin....but the ghetto autobots? Man, that was really really hard to sit through.... especially since half of the theater was black. I really hate Michael Bay....but he is genius when it comes to making the biggest production possible. The content was awful. It was like listening to Infinity (huge production), with random childish jokes thrown in over the top of the mix.

Transformers were a HUGE part of my childhood, and i will always stand by the 1985 cartoon movie. I can only hope that someday it will turn out like the Batman movies. They became very childish when Clooney stepped in... but luckily a darker, edgier writer and director took over to save the franchise from itself.

Watched "The Forbidden Kingdom" the other night.

Beautiful visuals, an "easy" film. Its not bad...

...but its TERRIBLE.

It doesn't matter. It was never meant to be good. Like I said its an "easy" watch.

But I couldn't help but let out a few lols whilst viewing it.

*Old wise man lays dying on the ground*
"Here, you must take this sacred object!"
*Young kid, the 'chosen one', takes the object*
"You must return it to the Monkey King!"
*Kid embarks on a journey and becomes a Kung-fu master, obviously, and saves... the world? No I don't think so, I think I just watched that whole film to see this strange Monkey King dude of whom the film has spent no time at all in making the audience respect/like the character, in fact, possibly even make us think he's a bit of an annoying, mischievous cock... Oh well, the wise old man says he's important so... WOO!!! HE FUCKING DID IT!!! HE SAVED HIM!!! OOOH thank GOD!!! YES!!!*

The chinese women were rather beautiful though.

Bruno.
Very, very funny. I couldn't believe some of what I was seeing on screen! I don't think I have ever laughed so hard at some of the jokes.
He has some guts to do the stuff he does. No shame that man.

I don't think it was as good as Borat though. I don't think the character is as strong. Definately worth a watch though.

The king of kong. Incredible nerdiness, some lovely obsessed characters. Great fun if you've ever played those old games, makes you wanna have a go at them again.

Girlfriend thought it was the most boring shit ever.

8/10

Fully agreed - I wonder if he really used a dust-buster on his man-parts
Those swingers party scenes actually made me pretty uncomfortable, I won't lie. Between the real people at a real swingers party, or that woman who kept whipping him although he clearly didn't like it.. it was pretty squirmy :?

Otherwise, it was really funny. A lot of shocking parts though!

School of Rock is great Roddy! One of my favorites as well! :)

When he asked the man if his child was alright around lit phosphorous, or the woman if her daugher could lose 10 of the 30 pounds she weighed I was actually freaking out. I usually don't give a shit about political correctness and all that, I just laugh at stuff like that. But seriously, leechy actually had to subdue me with head rubbing to stop me from shouting in the cinema at those people. THEY ARE YOUR CHILDREN. The whipping bit was a bit scary, he's really lucky he didn't seriously hurt himself jumping through the window! And the cage at the end, they're some gutsy fuckers. The yankee retards were practically trying to climb in to kill them! They actually got hit by a chair at one point!

Angels & Demons

Much like the book it's based on: nice build-up, lousy climax.

...I know some of you are waiting to take that out of context so I'm spoiling the joke by already hinting at it. HA!

Unborn When I first saw trailer of this movie, probably in theatre, I thought that this is going to be seriously scary horror flick. Quess what... Still, points for Odette Yustman, she certainly is very foxy :classic:

The Spitrit. it was ok. nothing too amazing. had the same sort of imagery as Sin City but it was nowhere near engaging. The women in the movie were fucking HOT though. like fuckin' SMOKIN. that was the best part of the movie. good movie for a wank. was an ok movie though

I saw Funny People the other night. It was Apatow's most serious & mature movie, and for about the first hour it was fantastic. It had a great mixture of humor and drama, but then everything just died down for the last hour, and it dragged on quite a bit. I still enjoyed it, though. 3/5

I thought it was his best movie by far. The last hour was really the best part in my opinion, but I suppose I went in knowing it wasn't going to be primarily comedy. The real aspects of a lot of the stuff towards the end were really great, hard to get into what I mean without ruining some things. But, as someone who has dealt with this stuff, it's great to see it treated as real as it was, instead of as romantic as hollywood makes it out to be normally. 5/5 from Hughie ! :D
