Its only appeal was its 'trippy' quality, which ran quite low considering the lumbering, sluggish pace of the film. I usually like science fiction fair enough, but this was just not my thing, I suppose.

Some movies age horribly. I watched "Bullit" once since it's everybody-should-watch classic (with that chase scene, Steve McQueen and all). Aside of chase scene, it was hard to endure, felt very slow and rather flat and naive in story department. Quite a dissapointment.

Seen Tarkovsky's "Stalker" as well - it's also a very slow movie with very looooong takes (you're thinking "whoa fuck, that was one long ass shot", then there's twice as much of the take, since camera has to slowly return to the place, where the shot started). But somehow it stayed in my head, must be the visions of decay and desolation (aside of long takes photography is excellent) or/and my liking for Strugacki's brothers. Oh, and it's a s-f movie without special effects, which is actually a good thing, considering state of communist cinematography :)

Not the best film I've ever seen, but it definitely entertained. The social commentary was laid on pretty thick, but overall, I thought it was a pretty great film.

Social commentary? I thought it was a big, glowing commercial for hard drugs. Fantastic movie though.

Yes, it is! :D

Indeed, what i really hate is the "repercussion" the movie had among most of the fans of classic music, i am one of them but i don't share the "anger" against the movie because of how the film represents Mozart.. i'm in.. is just a movie! and it's brilliant, pure fiction, nothing to take so serious

Yeah; maybe I misunderstood, but I read the whole thing as sort of a culture vs. counter-culture bit. It was pretty clever, regardless. As for the commercial, at least it had a few disclaimers.

District 9.

:o

Best alien movie I've ever seen, and immediately one of my favourite movies, both of the year and ever.

we watched Fast & Furious last night.

Boring, annoying, loud, unnecessary and stupid.

My rating:
2-/10
(because it had two nice cars, but both were horrificly modified into what they called "tuning cars")

Saw 'The Story of Anvil' last night. Cheesey, tragic and they didn't go into the history and the WHY they faded into obscurity after such a promising start, but I ultimately had a tear in my eye, because I identify with them so much. And other reasons. But definitely a must see for Metal and Rock fans, Canadians and just people who enjoy interesting Docos....

I watched Bolt last night!

It was hilarious! :D
The bubble hamster rocked some serious ass and Bolt was soooo kewt all the time :D
And all the doggy sounds and animal voices kept both of our dogs staring at the tv almost the
whole movie

It really saved a grey and rainy tuesday very well.

Voice actors were awesome, directing was good and characters lovable.
And it was a Disney movie I enjoyed. THAT hasn't happened in a while!
I give it 9/10 for making me feel like a happy 11-year old for 1 hour and 30 minutes :D

Inglourious Basterds

The only thing annoying me somewhat was Brad Pitt's hugely-over-the-top accent (spoiler: although it's again hilarious when he's trying to speak Italian), but other than that I loved every minute of it. The suspenseful dialogues and awkward moments where you expect a character to snap at any point are done so well, and yet I was still surprised when they did snap. Very cool movie. :)
