I saw Iron Man 2 yesterday, and I enjoyed it. Maybe not as good as its predecessor, but a worthy follow up. Mickey Rourke is just as rich as Jeff Bridges as a nemesis, IMO. I also agree the Thor teaser was awesome.

I really and sincerely hope that they don't f**k up those coming Marvel movies. I remember when I was kid (long time ago  ), I use to read those black/white Avenger comics and Captain America, Iron Man and Thor were my absolute favorite characters. Now more than 30 years later still have very fond memories about those adventures, so they better make them GOOD...or else :furious:

Found a solid rip of Kick-Ass online last night and decided to watch it. Definitely entertaining and a few good laughs here and there. Not as brutally violent as people made it out to be, but still pretty damn violent. Hit-Girl was probably one of the funniest characters I've seen in a movie.

Iron Man 2 t'other night. I really enjoyed it, it was just about not as good as the first one but they didn't absolutely bomb it to shit either so that I was very happy with. Cast was actually too good in this as well. Everyone was brilliant. Extra enjoyment from the inclusion of Mrs. Johansson for obvs reasons. Highly recommended! And I'm looking forward to what they do with the other ones in the run up to The Avengers. Hopefully they can keep the standards up!

Oh, forgot to mention.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR MAAAAAAAAAAAACHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEE

*ahem*

Also watched Fun With Dick and Jane today after saying for idno how many years that I have to see it, and it was also really good. Could just be that I have an affinity for Jim Carrey films but I thought this was great. I must seek out the original and see how the two compare.

Started to watch Oliver Stone's W. as well, but to be honest it didn't grab my attention so I turned it off. Seemed boring, but it could've just been the mood I was in.

Descent 2 Albino freaks hunt humans in caves. Although I promised myself that I would not watch this, I did... And it's crap. First one was brilliant and terrifying, this is not. It gets half star for surprise ending but that's it. Avoid, specially if you have seen first one.

Pandorum Albino freaks hunt humans in caves... No, wait, it's space ship this time. I really expected more from this movie, but it's average at best.

My Bloody Valentine 3D
it sucked hairy, sweaty Biert balls. First I tried to watch it in 3D but that didn't work at all...or let's say only 50% of the 3D actually worked and of course the colors were all green and red...yay...yay up your ass that is. So I turned off the 3D crap and guess what. It still sucked hairy, sweaty Biert balls. If I had sniffed at my cats butthole for 90 minutes it would have been more fun that dragging myself through this movie.

Not anything recent in cinema, but I ended up watching

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. I have to say Jack Nicholson definitely plays a great role in this. Funny, Christopher Lloyd now looks like a crazed Devin Townsend after seeing his character in the film.

Alien - Actually the 2nd time watching it, but still a classic. I see more success in horror movies when they're done properly and not overloaded of gore and violence. More jump-off-your-seat scenes and the growing suspense and tension through the story. Alien is a good example. I mean all the eerie settings and signs that happen as the crew reach to the alien spacecraft gives me shivers and just scares you of the horror that will unfold later on.

Two movies burned into my mind as a youngster - excellent choices.

And this is a gibbering behemoth of a cliche, but the book One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is even better than the book. It's told from the Chief's perspective, so it's still worth a read even if you've seen the film.

Yeah I need to read the book sometime, maybe even this month if I can find it. But that makes me even more anxious to read it if its told from the Chief's perspective. Sometimes I'd prefer to read the books first anyway, that way I know what the original plot and events are rather than the little changes made to film. Reminds me to read Stephen King's The Shining. There seems to be some criticism over that and the film.

The Incredible HULK This is the 2008 version, not that Ang Lee nonsense (although Eric Bana wasn't too bad). Seen this before obviously, but still works just fine. Good performances from Edward Norton and Tim Roth, also there's short appearence by Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark in very end of movie. I guess HULK will smash in upcoming Avengers movie  Hopefully we see that all star cast (Norton, Downey, Jackson) in that film too...

Apparently Norton aint too keen on doing more Hulk movies. Standalone or Avengers when it hits.
From what I can gather he had a bit of a major falling out with one of the "higher ups" during the filming for Hulk.

It's all up in the air at the moment but I'm sure some kind of arrangement will be made.
The Incredible Hulk was a great movie though. Probably about the best you can ask for for that character.

Maybe they can ask Eric Bana, as I said he didn't do all that bad playing Hulk in that Ang Lee version. Well, let's wait and see...

Saw Robin Hood yesterday, and I am so glad it was from a free ticket I got at work. This was ordinary at best, IMO. I'd sum it as a frenetic, drab, unintentional comedy, with any "historic realism" effectively mangled for the sake of creating a legend. This is wait-for-DVD fare; I'll even guess the inexorable 3 hour director's cut will be slightly better, anyway.

Yeah, I need to read The Shining one day too.

That said, I wouldn't criticise the film in comparison with the book. At the time the film was made, creating a stricter version of the film would have been nigh on impossible I think. It would be quite a challenge for a young filmmaker to tackle Kesey's masterpiece these days - getting inside the Chief's head and putting that on film would be quite something.
