Indeed. I too will be making this DVD mine. Oh yes...it will be mine! Still torn if I'm gonna see them on the TM tour or not, though.

Just watched Angel Heart and The Devil's Advocate back to back. Good films with quite a few similarities.
Plus comparing Pacino's and De Niro's Satan performances is also fun.

I remember loving Devils Advocate when it came out first. Pacinos presence in that film was amazing.
Must have gone to see it in the cinema about 4 or 5 times. Ah! Back when you could catch a film for the equivalent of €3.
Man I feel old. I must dig the DVD out and see if I still get the same buzz from it.

Never seen Angel Heart from start to finish. I'm pretty sure I have it in my collection. Isn't Mickey Rourke in that too?

Just sat through a horribly dubbed version of Drunken Master 2. So worth it for the fight scenes though. Typical Hong Kong based Jackie Chan brilliance, as funny as they are amazing. I really wish Jackie had been allowed to go full tilt in his American based movies. Damn you feeble Hollywood Insurance companies.
The final fight is between Jackie and his real life bodyguard (yup he's Jackie Chans bodyguard  )
The kicks the guy can pull off are insane. Jackie ends up going nuts on industrial strength Alcohol and goes to town Drunken Boxing style. :D
Just amazing.

I'm in the mood now so I'm gonna keep the Old School Jackie thing going with some Police Story followed by whichever movie in which he fights Benny the Jet. How cool a nickname is Benny the Jet by the way? 8)

Benny The Jet - that is awesome. Though I haven't seen it in a long time, Half a Loaf of Kung Fu I remember being funny as hell.
RE Devil's Advocate, I never tire of that film, even on DVD, so I recommend grabbing it.
Mickey Rourke was in Angel Heart, as the main character Harry Angel; this was before his career really took that dive and he became a body-builder. Funny, it's almost like watching a completey different person compared to his more recent roles.
Where Pacino's devil has the over the top flair with those relaxed periods to balance it, De Niro was more like patient predator that had an aura of menace the whole time he was on screen.

I think I remember Half a loaf. I think it might be one of those Jackie films that has a different name in different territories.
Sammo Hung co starred if I remember rightly. Good stuff indeed.

I kind of veered off my path today after Police Story. I was scanning through my stash looking for the next disc and the Prophecy caught my eye. So with all this evil movie role talk and the fact it's been ages since I last watched it I figured I'd go with it.
And...
It's still frickin' awesome. :)

Christopher Walken as the Archangel Gabriel gone wrong,
The man just consumes the scenery around him like a Black Hole.
Really good film and a brief early appearance by Viggo Mortensen as old Luciferous himself.

Think I'll follow your example and get out my copies of DA and AH tomorrow night.

The girl who played with fire.
just as good as the first one 'the girl with the dragon tattoo'. Don't know why there was so much criticism. I did not read the book but yeah, guess a movie is usually different than a book just like a video game is different than a movie, etc. etc.. I very much enjoyed the movie. Both the first and second movie of this trilogy are among the best thrillers I have seen in a while.

Babysitter wanted, based on one ok-ish review on IMDB.
It was a turd of washed out clichés, bad script and mediocre acting. Terrible, just terrible. The twist in the middle was true facepalm moment. Avoid.

Angels & Demons

Twas my favourite of the two Robert Langdon books from Dan Brown (I've not read The Lost Symbol), and the film was also much, much better than The Da Vinci Code. Nothing fantastic, but Tom Hanks is always great and I quite liked Ewan McGregor as well, and I think it translated very well into film. Worth a watch, methinks, even if you haven't read the book.

Agreed. Book was better, film was better. Only just recently got around to watching it myself and although I really didn't need to see Tom Hanks in a speedo, the rest was great!
