So my all-time favorite baseball player threw a perfect game tonight (while it's the second this year, this is a really fucking rare thing) he did so while throwing 14 strikeouts, and with my recently departed friend Alex Lewis's father in attendance. It couldn't be fucking better.


Oh that and the younger player I've been rooting hard for hit his second home run in back to back nights.

So my team, Collingwood, were last night knocked out of the AFL finals at the next to last hurdle. Major bummer.

On the bright side I can now dedicate more of my sports-viewing attention to the UFC. UFC 152 tomorrow!

After a bit of jostling and bullshit over who's fighting who, I'll get to Jon Jones fight again. This is always a good thing.

Baseball post-season's coming up! Woot! Diamondbacks ain't a-makin it, bummer, will have to be going for the Giants it seems.

Haha yeah, well, you know they're rolling out a AAA lineup today, it's hilarious.

They're probably not going to win anything this year, but I'm pulling for them, and hey, and least my grandad got to see a world series, a perfect game and another great division run.

Spring has sprung here which means a feast of sport (before a period of famine once the AFL season finishes and cricket is yet to begin... horse racing does NOT count!).

In the AFL my boys at Collingwood finished 6th so we're in the finals and will hopefully go a long way, but I can't see us beating Hawthorn unless we play out of our skins.

I'll hopefully be able to get along to a game, although not having a membership this year will make that a real challenge. Crowds can be kind of big:





And Liverpool are top after BEATING MAN UTD!!!

29 days til the NHL starts, 5 days til first pre-season game of British hockey. Thank god summer's over!

AFL Grand Final was played yesterday, Hawthorn vs Fremantle.

Hawthorn won. Pretty disappointing game really. Fremantle were completely overawed until the second half and just butchered the ball when they had it. Fought back in the third quarter but Hawthorn just had too much firepower for them, and Freo's kicking for goal was embarassing. Happy for my Hawks supporting friends.

100,007 people there... Not a bad get-together!
