Probably? I mean, NotLD was groundbreaking and all, but let's be real, there's not exactly a contest with this statement worth making, despite what John Leguizamo will try to tell you.

heh, yeah...although I think Land of the Dead wasn't all that bad. :P But yeah, to me 'Dawn' is the best of the series without a doubt. I like 'em all though. Day of the Dead apparently isn't too popular but I really dig it. It's a little weird, the characters in the movie are all fucked up and depressing and the gore was even better than in Dawn. I read that Romero had the option to do an R-rated movie with a budget of 6 million bucks or an unrated movie with a budget of 2 or 3 million bucks. So he went for the unrated one and the smaller budget without compromises.

I even dig Diary of the Dead and Survival of the Dead. They're by no means classics but obviously Romero didn't have a lot of money to make them with and I'm just glad the man's still making zombie flicks!

I'd put them in this order:
Dawn
NotLD
Day
Land
Diary
Survival

random additional note: Apparently George's gonna remake Dario Argento's Deep Red...could be good!

Oh I love Day of the Dead, and your rankings would be the same as mine except I didn't much care for Survival at all, and Diary was a bit forgettable but they at least tried something different with it.

Man, you're tolerant. Personally, I think the dude dropped the ball and will rather seek a fresher stuff, like Charlie Brooker's Dead Set- which is pretty damn good modern take on zombies. New Romero absolutely doesn't cut it for me.

Main problem of "Diary of dead"'s wasn't lack of budget - the problem was to make film pretending to be quasi-documentary recording of events then style the fuck out of it. Instead of raw recording you're getting pro-shot B-movie recorded without steadycam. With B-movie actors and drama :>. Don't know the "Survival of the dead", but considering the quality of "Land" and "Diary" I wouldn't expect good things.

I tried watching Diary yesturday and this was my problem exactly. Turned it off after 20 minutes, couldn't stand the bad acting and "documentary" style.

I liked Diary personally - it's a slow burner, but I prefer it to Land. Survival isn't bad, but it is nowhere near the greatness of the original series. Day is great, quite underrated, despite all the talking. But Dawn wins for me. And if/when I get a Blu-Ray, I'll be sure to pick that baby up.

it's not region locked so it plays on any Blu-Ray player too. Not sure about the bonus material but the movie itself will definitely play. I think the DVD's aren't region locked either.

and as for the comments on Diary above, yes, I really do like it. And most of my friends actually do too. It's no classic, like I said but if you take it for what it is then it's enjoyable.

And there's far worse zombie flicks. If you wanna see a bad one, watch 'Burial Night: The Night of Terror'. Now that one is awful. Has anyone ever seen it? There's a weird man-kid in it that ends up turning into azombie and biting into his mom's tit. Sounds awesome but it really isn't

It's all about Return of the Living Dead 3. It's a love story about a a guy and his zombie girlfriend who dies by flying off the back of his motorcycle and hits a tree. When he makes out with his zombie lady, it's possibly so funny it hurts, so proceed with caution.

that one was actually good...although very different from Return of the Living Dead 1 and 2, which were essentially the same movie, heh. But I dug them too. Hope they'll release a proper Blu-Ray of Return of the Living Dead 1 here in Europe too. The US Blu-Ray is region locked and the DVD probably looks like a pixelfest on an HD TV. Still gotta get my hands on the US Blu-Rays of Night of the Creeps and Let sleeping Corpses Lie/The living Dead at Manchester Morgue. Plus: Arrow's gonna release The Beyond on Blu-Ray next week and I soooo love that movie, one of Fulci's best, so I will have to order it. I guess it's obvious that I love them zombie flicks... :P

Avoid ROTLD 4 & 5 - trust me. They were barely worth streaming.

Watched the DVD of Let Me In and enjoyed it as much as in the cinema. Though watching the deleted scenes, I am of the belief they should not have omitted the "Be Me" sequence, which IMO actually outdid the Swedish version. Sure Matt Reeves had his reasons about emotional direction, but I personally think he was wrong there. The other scenes were also good, but were more expendable (hence deletion).

Aliens, reworked BD version. Gone is that grainy look, picture isn't too pretty but just right (just look at the latest version of classic Predator, maybe too plastic look there...). Naturally longer version, much better that theatrical release.

Dear Mr. Gacy. Kinda predictable but still managed to hold my interest. Really creepy when you keep reminding yourself it's based on a true story.

Night of the living Dead

no matter how often I've watched that movie, I still think it's awesome and love it. Still hoping for a Blu-Ray release without any missing footage and without any cropping of the picture.

My name is Earl season 1-4

best TV show evaaarrr....to me anyways. Why on earth was it cancelled? It's funny, the stories are great, the characters are great and after watching an episode you feel good. The 4th season ends with a cliffhanger and then the show was cancelled, meh. And Earl never got to finish his list. Meh.

Such is American television. I'm not the hugest fan of Earl, but it's tragic when stories aren't allowed to complete.

Earl was pretty good, and I too was disapointed to see it end like that. May I recommend Trailer PArk Boys, if you want another trailer park show? It's not the same vibe at all, and more crass, but it is still pretty funny. The documentary style in which they shoot is interesting as well.
