I don't think so...Microsoft has said today that ME1 will stay Microsoft exclusive. But ME2 is an awesome game and if PS3 owners have the chance to play it next year then they should. And even if they can't import any characters, etc. the game is still very much worth playing and people who own a good PC too can at least play the 1st ME game on PC for the story.

my copy of Transformers: War for Cybertron finally arrived and I LOVE it! The graphics are pretty good actually, nice usage of the Unreal engine. The voice acting is sweet (Peter Cullen is on board again doing Optimus Prime's voice), the action kicks ass. It's basically like Gears of War with robots minus blood and minus the cover system.

Still hooked on Castlevania Harmony of Despair. Need to play more Monday Night Combat. And need to finish Metro 2033 on Ranger Hardcore. Something new needs to come out :)

How do you feel about Castlevania : Lord of Shadows?
I never really liked any 3d Castlevania, and am not too fond of Kojima.

2 things:

1- Castlevania Lament of Innocence was one of the most fun Castlevania's I've played. Fully 3D on ps2 and I loved it.
2- I love Kojima. I've been an MGS fan since the first one. To me, it looks like Lament of Innocence meets God of War. I love both of those games so I could see me really liking it.

it's a definite case of demo/review before buying for me.
I used to really like the God Of War series, but couldnt find enough fun to complete GoW3.
I played a few Metal Gear Solid games, and they were not my cup of tea.

I didnt finish Lament of Innocence either.. that game didnt grasp me.
I do hope its an awesome game though.
Really looking forward to DeaD Rising 2 these days... i think its the only game i really anticipate for the rest of the year.

Really? Not even Fallout New Vegas?

hmm...I think there's plenty of games to look forward to, for this year and next year! Mafia 2, Halo: Reach (fuck yeah!), Metroid: Other M, Epic Mickey, Fallout New Vegas, Dead Rising 2, Castlevania Lord of Shadows, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Crysis 2, Dead Space 2, Fable 3, Bioshock Infinite, InFamous 2, Resistance 3, Killzone 3, L.A. Noire, Rage, (maybe) Doom 4, Gears of War 3, XCOM...etc. etc. I have no idea how to afford all of them but I want them all. I might have to sell Sab and Biert but then again, video games cost more than 5 bucks.

I dunno, i liked fallout 3, but New Vegas doesnt seem to bring much of anything new, and after all the expansions i played on fallout 3, im kinda jaded about the whole concept. I'll most likely get the game, but im not just that excited about it.
Having my xbox 360 RRoD recently, and being generally not too rich, im not going to play any xbox 360 exclusives either, that said i dont care about Halo or Gears of Wars, only missing out on Fable, but i never played that series. Probably only buy a new xbox when Mass Effect 3 comes out.
No wii either, no intention to buy one either.
Also disliking FPS severly cuts down on the number of games i enjoy... it seems this generation of game is overwhelmed by fps, and they seem to do so little to push that genre forward. I've tried some few of them, and had some decent fun, but it still kinda feels like a chore to play those games for me. I loved the atmosphere and the settingn of Dead Rising, the gameplay was quite a chore though. Bioshock was tons of boring all over for me.
Out of all the games EphelDuath666 listed, i think only Dead Rising 2 is a sure buy... Castlevania and Fallout are on the maybe list.
The rest dont register on the radar.

I literally only care about Metroid. We'll see how I feel about the future once that's digested properly, but for now it is the alpha and the omega.

I'd really, really love to see a current generation iteration of Metroid Prime. Take that game, put it with the best of the best FPS mechanics and graphics engine, and you'd have one of the most fun FPS games of this console generation.

BUT

Leave it to Nintendo to be more worried about their gimmicky motion controls than anything else :P

(for the record: I think all motion controllers, 3D TVs and 3D movies are all shameless gimmicks to bring in extra money, I could really do without them)

You clearly never played Metroid Prime 3 for the wii. Handled like a dream.

Also, I'd argue making the same first person shooter over and over is a pretty shameless gimmick myself. The game industry is designed to make money after all.

Just the same, I'm all about tough space broads.

...

Incidentally, hey Atari 8)

the entire Metroid Prime Trilogy handled wonderfully on the Wii and it's awesome games. I don't care whether it's in HD or not. I don't think that technical aspect has anything to do with 'fun'. Red Steel 2 is another FPS on the Wii that is quite original and über-fun.

I do agree with the notion that there's hardly anything new coming out anymore but at the same time that isn't really anything that bothers me. If something that has been there before is fun then I don't let anything keep me from enjoying it, just because it doesn't re-invent the wheel. The Metroid Prime trilogy is a good example. I can't see how MP1, MP2 and MP3 are that different from one another but it's awesome games anyways, each of them. Or New Super Mario Bros for the Wii. That game really doesn't re-invent anything, in fact it's as retro as it can get (well, ok...not as retro as Mega Man 9 and 10, but still...) and yet I still thought it's crazy fun.
Dunno...I think I'd miss out if I just played games that are original or games that are in HD only.

I'm actually with you pretty much all of the way. There's nothing wrong with things using motion control or 3D or what have you if they're fun. And when it's first party nintendo, chances are it is.

I'll admit that I'm a bit worried about the handling for the new Metroid game, but at the same time, Nintendo has done a great job with their major games in making sure that the handling is done right. I have a feeling that they won't mess this up, especially after Metroid Prime 3, and even after games like Twilight Princess (although I'll admit that I liked it more on Gamecube, but then again, that's what it was made for).
