Thank you for "reviewing" the Move.
I must admit i dont think i will be getting it, mostly because it seems expensive at this point, but if prices fall it could be interesting.
The 3rd party support, and the core games will be determining factors for sure.

I love the vibe of that one, but San Andreas has such a fantastically large map! In 15 minutes you could drive all over Vice City, but it'll take hours to get from one end of San Andreas land to the other. Unless you get a jet plane :mrgreen:

Well thats a bit of a reason for why i prefer Vice City.
In San Andreas some of the missions we're so long and drawn out, racing from one corner of the map to the other... just not fun.
And all thats space meant there was alot of empty space, where there was not much else to do, but drive somewhere else.

And Vice City was small enough that after a while it become easy to navigate the map, without having to look at the radar too often.

That said, both we're awesome games.

Coincidentally I'm playing through GTA 3, VC and SA right now. Finishing up VC, about to start with SA again. Hugely entertaining. :)

Finished off Halo Reach on normal difficulty. The end of the game becomes total fan service, but really does tie in nicely to the first game.

Played a good bit of Firefight last night too. The fact that you can change so many settings leads to some really fun game types. Also gets crazy intense as you go on.

Really anxious to see the ending on Legendary now, since they always have a different ending for Legendary difficulty.

wonder if the ending will be even longer when you play through the game on legendary all by yourself.

Anyways...my copy finally arrived today. No German voices, yay (it often seems like German voice actors don't take video games serious enough to do a decent job)! The voice actors for the English version did a very good job. And boy does the game look sweet, Bungie sure got the best out of their engine with this one. the controls are sweet as usual..although I was kinda hoping they'd add a cover system. I'm plying it solo on normal difficulty and that is quite challenging already. Not too difficult though so it is just right. Not sure if I want to play through it on legendary on my own though. Tried that with Halo 3 and hated it. I agree that the characters are cool and have personality which is cool. Played the first 6 missions and the space battle indeed was awesome and much longer than I thought. I thought what we saw in the video presentations at E3, etc was all but I'm glad that is not the case. The only thing I can criticise at the moment is the story which has not really grabbed me yet. So far it is less epic than I was hoping whcih is a bit odd considering that there's lots of material for an epic story. But like I said, I only played through half the game so far so that can still change. But despite that I'm lovin' it.

oh and the limited edition is pretty sweet too. I was first thinking about pre-ordered the legendary edition but I don't really want to waste more space for decoration. Already have plenty of that, being the nerd that I am. So I'm happy with the limited edition. looks pretty sweet. Well, a bonus DVD would have been sweet but I guess ya can't have everything!

I was given an IPod touch. Decided to go with tradition and break in a gaming device with a round of The Secret of Monkey Island. Voice acting was cool. Control scheme was pretty much garbage. Instead of point and tap it was all "drag arrow tip of cursor to precise hotpoint of object you desire interaction with. Select action. Select item you wish to perform action with. Select hot point again. Tap." It took me 10 tries to get anything involving timing right on a game I've been playing every few months for 20 years. Ick.

hmmm..well, got Halo: Reach today and already beat it :? It's....kinda short! So here's my thoughts on the single player campaign...not that anyone cares but I'll let you know anyways :lol:

Sooo....the story picked up after about halfway through but still didn't really blow me away

++++SPOILER ALERT++++
where was the covenant's perspective on all this? In past Halo games you usually got to see what's going on on the covenant's side too. Not this time, which was a little disappointing considering how they are invading and destroying an entire planet. AND I would have liked the story to show the perspective of the civilians a bit further. They could have gone a little deeper into that. Overall the story is not bad at all but they could have worked on that part of the game a bit more. It's Bungie's last Halo game after all.
++++SPOILER ALERT OVER

the gameplay is as good as usual. It's definitely the hardest Halo game so far though. When I played ODST with a friend of mine on heroic it was a cake walk compared to playing Reach on normal difficulty. Also there's quite a bit of backtracking in the game. There usually is in Halo games but I kinda hoped they would change that. The space battle was A LOT of fun. Probably the most fun part of the game. They should have added that to the multiplayer modes too. Everything else was standard Halo, more or less. The ending was pretty cool though. Pretty satisfying.

++++SPOILER ALERT++++
I wish they had included some type of boss battle. I understand that fighting a Scarab would have been old news. But they could have come up with something. Also to me some parts of the game appeared to be pretty tedious because the game just shits enemies at you which kind of felt like Bungie was trying to stretch the game's length this way. If there had not been moments in the game where you had to fight horde after horde of enemies, the game would have been even shorter. Also I was sort of sad that there wasn't a Scorpion mission. Yeah, it's been there before multiple times but it would have just felt right considering that mankind is fighting against a huge alien invasion.
++++SPOILER ALERT OVER++++

this may all sound pretty bad but I still enjoyed the game. I just don't think it will be my most favorite Halo game ever. But that's OK. It's fun anyways. And I have not checked out the multiplayer stuff yet either.

I know...tl;dr :P

I agree on the story not exactly grabbing you. It moves so fast and nothing is explained at all.

I honestly think the reason they did not include the Covenant's perspective is due to the fact that he Elite's hadn't defected yet. I dont remember Halo 1 having their perspective either. Speaking of which, this game gets bonus points for not having the Flood! :D

Lars, let me tell you my friend...Legendary in this game is NO joke. With only 2 of us it's damn near impossible. Adding a third gun made the game much more manageable, but we try to make sure someone is always alive, whether they are ducking in and out of cover to make sure in case any of us die. And you will die...a lot. I just dont see how this game is beatable on Legendary by yourself. And at this point, I wish we could add you in because I'd love to have a fourth gun on our team.

well, my internet connection ain't the fastest so I hope it would work well (always depends on the game, it seems) but if you see me online, just hit me up and we can give it a try!
I don't know how it works with this game but in Halo 3 one of us always stayed in the back where it was nice and quiet and when someone died, he spawned right next to who ever stayed in the back.

I played through the first 6 missions of Halo Reach on Legendary on my own and boy...it's ridiculous. While I understand that a game should be hard and challenging on the hardest difficulty setting, this is just plain retarded. And alas there's quite a few things that take the fun out of playing it alone on Legendary, and I played through ODST and most of Halo 3 on my own on Legendary. First of all, long range fights just do not work. It seems like Bungie has made any long range weapon useless. The weapons either hardly do much damage or Elites (and there's plenty of them) just jump away and behind a cover as soon as their über-strong shields are down. Then a lot of the new weapons are pretty useless too. A few of them hardly do any damage at all. You try to shoot grunts with them and it takes several shots. But boy, when an Elite fires at you with the same weapon it takes one direct hit and you're six feet under.
I think all that happened because there's usually a ton of douche bags that complain about how easy the past games were on Legendary (well, try the games solo and they ain't easy) and now they really made that difficulty setting way too annoying. It makes Mass Effect 2 on Insane difficulty look like some kindergarten game for 4 year olds on Easy difficulty.

Even on co-op the game is insane on Legendary. At least you're more than half way to an achievement I plan to completely bypass :shock:

Would love to get you in on the game we have been playing, but all of my friends are too stingy and want only these people, etc. It's annoying.
