New Vegas is one of the titles were I have to punch my balls once in a while so I don't buy it because I want to wait for the hopefully less buggy Game of the Year edition with all add-ons included. I loved Fallout 3 to death so this is really testing my patience...and my balls.

And you should finish Mass Effect 2...you wanna load your save game into Mass Effect 3, dontcha? :D

I waited until New Vegas had an update... I haven't had any of the reported problems.

And I want to finish ME2, but I just KNOW someone is going to die and I'm not going to get the achievement... [whine] I did every side mission, every upgrade, and I still don't feel confident enough in my skill to get my entire team through the last mission alive.

Stop damaging your balls. They need to be in full working order at short notice.

if you got all upgrades, each of your crew members is loyal and you pick the right people in the last mission it should be no problem. And hey, you can just create a save game and if something goes wrong you can reload that save game and see if you can do anything differently.

no problem, I always got a pair of extra balls with me to replace them

(now wouldn't that be awesome?)

Sassy. I'll be over in the new year.

In a more on-topic comment, I may start playing Uncharted 2 soon, countless months after I initially bought it... Then I can have another thing to look forward to next year!

I forgot about Uncharted 2! [punches self in the face]
I can't believe you haven't played it, yet!

I never played the first one, so I bought them both together after I 100%'d Red Dead to fill the void to Mafia II, which I also never bought. So I played the first one... Then... I actually dunno what happened. I never bought Mafia cos everyone said it'd be shit.. OH. Dead Rising. Ignored gaming for most of the summer due to having a life in the real world, and when college kicked in again Dead Rising was out, then New Vegas was out, then AssCreed Bro'Hood was out... So now I have a gap again and Uncharted shall fill it!

Also, this;

Glorious. That ride into Mexico in RDR was THE video game moment of the year. Maybe ever. That game is a clear country mile ahead of everything else for me as well. The fucking ending... I was actually raging about it for days.. I still get a little twang whenever I see Marston. I dunno why it was so immersive and overwhelming, but damn did RockStar do something right with it.

Mass Effect 2 is by far game of the year to me. Red Dead Redemption is a close second.

Dead Rising 2 is one of the most fun games I've played this year. I haven't played enough of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood yet because Call of Duty Black Ops still has me by the balls. I need to break that addiction and finish off New Vegas and Brotherhood so I can prepare for Dead Space 2 in late January.

agreed...Mass Effect 2 is also game of the year by far for me. And also one of my all time favorite games, if not THE all time favorite game of mine.

I forgot to mention Fable 3 in my list so I added it. It is actually a great game, just wish I had waited for the patch before playing it for the first time because it really fixed a lot of the frame rate issues which makes the game much more enjoyable. So yeah, the patched version is actually way better than Fable 2.

and I bought Assassin's Creed Brotherhood too but have not had any time to play it yet because of one of my favorite games of this year that totally caught me off the hook....Deadly Premonition. Weirdest game I played so far. Everything seems to look bad in this game, the gameplay is bad...but the game still is so damn good. It really IS like a David Lynch movie. Things get weirder and weirder and in the end you're like 'whaaaaaaaaaaaaa?' Just awesome. I wish the developers of this game have had the same budget as Remedy had for Alan Wake, they would have deserved it.

Red Dead Redemption was my second favorite of this year. One of the best stories in video game history, same goes for the ending. Great characters, amazing atmosphere, a great feeling of freedom...it is just pretty damn close to being perfect.

And another stand out for me was Dead Rising 2. I'm a total zombie fan in general so I'm easily impressed when it comes to that genre, hehe...but this game is just sooooooo much fun. And speaking of Dead Rising 2, Can't wait to download Case West!

My kids have temporarily abandoned all the fancy games in favour of playing Minecraft this week. My son built himself a house, showed me around it and apologised for the fact a couple of cows had spawned inside it and were roaming free in his living room.

Red Dead Redemption, by a longshot. I'm not even sure I have another game aside from Mafia 2 which came out this year.

I liked Mass Effect 2 alot, but Red Dead Redemption was overall a better package for me, it brought more than Mass Effect 2 did, as the gameplay was more engaging in RDR.
Dead Rising 2 is also another great one, but not game of the year material, it is still just plain fun to play though.

I really didnt get into GoW 3 actually, even though i loved the 2 first ones, i didnt even finish GoW 3, the game just didnt evolve enough for me, it seems they just mostly have better graphics.

Vanquish may make it onto my 'games of the year' list....what a badass game! It's like any shooter you know on steroids and speed. Fun!

Enslaved is amazing. The gameplay is basic but a lot of fun, and the narrative and overall artistic direction is amazing. The characters and writing are amazing, and the voice actors are amazing.

What a great game that no one bought, it honestly is up there with Beyond Good and Evil for me in underrated awesome games that anyone who's a fan of the medium should play.
