In The Loop - The funniest movie I have seen in a while. Perfect in its pacing, and the laughs just roll in.

Good call Faffy!

Did the Tim Burton exhibition come to your corner of the world? It had some cool Mars Attacks models. I was hoping for more, but was glad it got a run.

I was glad I got a picture of the Batmobile. Plus the Hansel and Gretel film was funny as hell.

A Serious Man - why so serious? Yeah, the Coens do great gray comedy, and the elements of drama and humor were better displayed here than Burn After Reading; almost as good as Fargo, I'd say.

I think it's the most hilarious movie ever. Like... "WE CASTED MICHAEL J. FOX! AND KILLED HIM INSTANTLY! HAHAHAAHH!"
And when Tom Jones sings at the end... SO. EPIC.

I DIE.

Regarding the Tim Burton exhibition.. I doubt it would come anywhere near where I live. :P

Ah, Mars Attacks, one of my all time favourites.

Well I've just finished watching Paul. Pretty average. It had its funny moments, sci-fi references and all, but overall I wouldn't be calling it a comedy classic by any standard. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost do make up for a good duo, as always. To me, I think the ending proves as the best part of the film. Simply because of Sigourney Weaver's appearance and the fact that her movie lines gets stolen to a degree of great humour  .

Basically, If you like any Pegg/Frost movies, then Paul is certainly worth watching.

I didn't like Paul :C Shame, cause I've been a fan of that bunch since Spaced.

I'm watching Vampire in Brooklyn! I think it's awesome cause I have a terrible taste in films.

I was an extra in Paul but sadly didn't make the final cut. Such is life. Did enjoythe movie though. As for movies I've seen recently there's several:

Just watched Good Will Hunting for the first time. Really liked it while it did feel pretty cliche in spots. But I wonder if that's because it has been copied so many times or if the film itself is cliche. All in all though good film and Matt Damon really is a fine actor.

I also just saw the French film The Pack at a midnight showing at the local little indie theater. The group I went with wasn't too hot on it but for some reason I really enjoyed it. It's a zombie movie/kidnapped-by-hillbillies-and-tortured movie hybrid, which I found interesting. However I would have liked a slight bit more explanation at the end. I also love watching foreign films just to see how they structure story so differently from how I'm used to and The Pack is a great example.

And lastly, not a film but I just finished Season 4 of Dexter. Crazy fucking shit, And the twist at the end, while pissing me off, was so out of he realm of what I think the audience would have thought would happen I have to respect the writers. And the Trinity Killer has to easily be one the creepiest, most insanely evil villians to be on film or TV. One thing that sucked was I did know the twist the whole season cuz I frackin read it by accident on Wikipedia so that kinda ruined it a bit. All in all though what an incredible show.

Crazy Heart

I actually really enjoyed it. I'm probably just a Jeff Bridges fanboy but I didn't know the dude can play guitar that well and actually sing, so I was pretty impressed.

I ordered the blu-ray box of the original Star Wars trilogy...or what's left of the original Star Wars trilogy. Hope Lucas didn't completely ruin the movies. Just couldn't force myself to order the complete box with all 6 movies because I really do not like the episodes I-III at all. Alas that means I'll have to live without all the bonus material that comes with the complete box but oh well...guess I can live with that. I also picked up Scarface on Blu-ray, can't fucking wait to watch it!!! One of my most favorite movies of all time.

I just don't understand how you can't fit the original and the unholy heresy on the same damn Blu-Ray disc, I mean these movies are 30 years old. It's sad that the originals aren't likely to be restored and made beautiful til Lucas passes on :|

another good example is Peter Jackson's Braindead/Dead Alive Blu-Ray release. It will be the R-rated version which is missing a whole lot of the stuff that made Braindead so awesome...GUTS and GORE! And we may never see the fully uncut unrated verstion on Blu-ray because Peter Jackson prefers the R-rated cut. Well, that's great....it's just that I prefer Braindead to be as gorey as possible!
