I prefer the Criterion approach. My Brazil box-set has the fucking "Love Conquers All" version. If Terry Gilliam can allow THAT, and Ridley Scott can have a billion different Blade Runners, then the rest of these directors who think they know better can allow a set with their preferred version to co-exist with the others.
EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I'm pro the director having a choice, but there's something to be said when there's such a vocal group that wants to see the original version, a la Star Wars, that there should be an option for them to see the damn movies they loved so much.
I shan't buy the films before that happens.
