Scarface on Blu-ray

well, no need to mention how awesome that flick is because everybody knows it is. But I really appreciate the new visual quality of the movie. It's been wonderfully restored and cleaned up and looks better than ever. It probably won't ever look any better. So this is a purchase that I certainly do not regret.

Being John Malkovich- What just happened to me? Nah, I was completely confused during the whole thing. Funny and thought-provoking stuff. I can understand why Devin likes it.

The last house on the left as for modern horror movies it holds up well has Aaron Paul from breaking bad in it it's about a house and it's the last one on the left... I'm not the one to give out spoilers but it's def worth a watch

HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN.
Not best movie ever, but it's to me, it's perfect. I loved ever single thing about it.
Favorite movie of the year. In my top 10 favorites ever.

Trollhunter.

A norwegian film shot in documentary style about a trollhunter and film group following the guy. CGI is almost flawless considering this came from outside of Hollywood. I don't want to spoil anything about it. Just go and see it if you can. 8,5/10

Did you notice how wonderful the use of color was in that movie without being entirely overt a la Sin City?

Haha, hobo with a shotgun. The scene with the kids in the bus.... That movie disturbed me in a few places. When she helped him out of the manhole with her chewed up arm I swear I felt her pain.

Last movie I saw was Primer. Absolutely love it. Plus it's cool that the writer/director/actors are engineers. Represent!

Yes indeed! You could tell that a great deal of love and attention went into making Hobo. Gives it a really authentic feel.

Just watched The Fighter. That's a hell of a movie. Mark Wahlberg and especially Christian Bale both hit it entirely out of the park, and it touches on some themes that are fairly close to home. Also captures Massachusetts pretty damn well.

Yeah, I agree, The Fighter was damn well made.

Well, I just watched Limitless. I found it pretty impressive. I mean like how the camera shots were taken in certain scenes/settings and how the plot manages to suck you in halfway into the movie. Not bad.

Next movie I plan on watching: Grandma's Boy. After continuous blabbering from co-workers that its one of the best comedies. I shall soon find out...

The Nicolas Cage Wicker Man made me piss my pants in absolute delight. His acting is once again top-notch, with Cage rage and misogynistic violence aplenty. Good fun.

Red Dog
Australian movie of a traveling kelpie who unites an entire community of miners in the outback. Based on a true story, as well. Quite funny and moving, and one of the more uplifting films I've seen this year (of course, the ending is a bittersweet one, but you'd expect it to be). Great soundtrack, too.
Also saw Man on Wire on TV tonight, and that was also amusing, especially with some scenes shot like a black & white expressionist film. The fact that the guy crossed a tightrope between the twin towers eight times at once with a smile on his face is not only amazing, but just goes to show how brave some people can be.

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (Blu-ray)

enough has been said about Lucas's unnecessary additions to the 3 original movies so I'll just comment on the quality of the Blu-ray. Man, they did one hell of a job, it looked absolutely amazing. And I don't think they'll ever look any better. Can't wait to watch Episode V and VI too.

A friend of mine actually got the complete saga box and said the old flicks look better than the prequels on Blu-ray, heh. So I'm even more glad that I did not get those on Blu-ray yet.
