still playing Bulletstorm and still digging it a lot. I'm surprised but this game is entertaining me longer than I thought! Improving your skills and performing a ton of skillshots in Echoes mode is soooooo much fun. Got 150,000 skillshot points in Echoes mode so I think I'll try to beat the game on very hard difficulty now.

also, I read that the single player campaign of Homefront is only 5 hours short. So I think I'll wait for it to get cheaper...unless it gets really bad reviews, then I may not buy it at all, heh

Loved the single player campaign - yes it's short, but basically that's how linear shooter should look like. Fantastic (and colorful!) set design, voice acting, dialogues and variety in fights. Top class mindless fun. Gotta check that echoes mode.

you won't regret it, it's a ton of fun. It's basically small portions of most chapters of the game in which you have to try to perform as many skillshots as possible and get as many points as you can. You start out getting 4,000 to 6,000 points but the better you get, the more points you'll get and at some point you will pass the 15,000 point mark in some levels without a problem.

the game is also VERY awesome on very hard difficulty, btw.

Was at a lock-in last night and we put on the Dead Island trailer on the big screen and the surround sound and it was actually the greatest thing EVAR. LOVE that trailer. If the game is half as good as the trailer I'm so sold on it.

Also, am I the only gamer alive not totally into RAGE? What I've seen of it so far hasn't really grabbed my attetion 't'all 't'all...

Just beat Dragon Age II. Mildly disappointed with it, they could've done much better with the story.

the Metacritic score of that game ain't really as high as everyone expected either. But what's even worse is all the user reviews. Lots of VERY disappointed people. I just hope Bioware won't screw up Mass Effect 3. I read a month or two ago that ME3 is basically playable from start to finish already so I hope they did not rush it. After all they probably still got half a year or even more if there's a delay.

The screenshots of Dead Island look pretty awesome. Apparently it is supposed to be more like Dead Rising rather than, let's say, Resident Evil. Dead Rising on a big fuckin' island? Fuck yeah!
And I must say I'm looking forward to Rage. Of course it could turn out to be just a tech demo wrapped into a not so good game. But I'm sure id won't screw this one up. They have been working on it for ages.

in other news: I finished Bulletstorm on very hard difficulty. Wasn't really all that hard. Surprisingly easy actually but a lot of fun. Great game!

Yeah, that'll be class. None of that time limit crap Dead Rising had that really ruined that game for me...

in a way the time limit was fun but I totally agree that open world games shouldn't have a time limit. You want to do everything that you can do in the game without having to replay it over and over. It kinda worked though for the Dead Rising games for whatever reason.

Anyways, as awesome as the trailer is, I'm not sure if there's going to be any of that amazingly creepy and sad atmosphere in the game. I read in an IGN article that one of the IGN folks had the chance to see (or play, don't remember) the game and he said that the trailer isn't really representative. But oh well, as long as it's fun!

These are/were very much my fears. The demo was entirely devoid of the charm of the original Dragon Age. I realize that they were trying to go for a broader audience, but I'm afraid you're never going to get that kind of broad audience with that kind of RPG, so why tamper with success? It's not like the original didn't sell. Just not Mass Effect numbers.

I've heard a lot of people say this before but it's actually not true.

Dragon Age Origins outsold Mass Effect.

Huh. Well you learn something new every day. Then again, it's basically an exclusive game (Mass Effect 2 JUST came out for the PS3) vs. multiplatform.

But okay, there you go, Dragon Age sold even more than Mass Effect, so why dumb it down? :(
