I don't think it's necessarily due to the length but due to the graphics of the game and all the motion capturing that was used, in game vids and all that stuff.

Haha! Christ, I've never heard of the likes of that before... And I got the bonus thing with the pre-order so that'll probably have more shite again on top of that.

Yeah I imagine all that detailed facial animation must take up a hell of a lot of space.
Looks like a really interesting idea for a game though. I'd definitely be buying it if I had a PS3

Oh feck, next week already huh? Looks like it will be an expensive month with the Decon/Ghost pre-orders, LA Noire.. I also still haven't gotten Portal Kombat and need to pay insurance for my (still broken) bike.

Damn.

uh oh...this seems to be a serious issue. I have read plenty of comments about people having those issues on both PS3 and Xbox 360. I guess there even have been cases where consoles didn't work at all anymore after LA Noire made them overheat and crash. Well, I guess I won't be opening my copy before I know whether it's safe or not. I sure as hell don't want to buy a new PS3 or have it repaired for 150 or 200 Euros just because of this game.

Ah NOOOOOOO. What a fail. Although this may be a blessing because I have my final two exams on Monday and Tuesday and now I can't play the game after I pick up my copy tomorrow.

it's pretty amazing actually. First Rockstar claimed that it's the new PS3 Firmware and how they tried LA Noire and other games on PS3's with the new Firmware on them and the games crashed (not true apparently) and then truth comes out that the same problem occurs on Xbox 360 consoles. And now Rockstar is like 'uhmmmmm...yeah...uhmmmm....it's not our game that is causing this!' and that it's just a few cases. Right...just check the Rockstar support page and there's TONS of complaints of PS3 and Xbox 360 owners.

Oh and if your console dies as a result of this, you ain't gonna get it replaced. Awesome!

Damn it guys, I just bought L.A. Noire and now I'm too bloody nervous to put it into my PS3!! Especially cuz I have an old 40GB fat model and I haven't updated the firmware since last year sometime as it's not hooked up online...

*stressing OUT* >_<

Ah crap. And you probably had to sell a limb to pay the excessive price and all! :P

My PS3 is an old 40G as well so I'm in the same boat. But I'm not that bothered because the game is only costing me €5 so I don't mind waiting. They'll have to do something to rectify it or R*'s reputation is gonna be totally destroyed very quickly...

Well that sucks. I'm kinda put off now. My xbox is one of the newer elite models (before the shiny xboxes but after RROD, I'm assuming one of the last batches because I got it from work when they were clearing them out to make way for the new shiny ones) but a girl I know is xbox mad and got the game two days ago and I'm pretty sure her xbox is older than mine so if she doesn't have any problems I'm going to assume it's okay. I don't currently have my xbox hooked up to the net whereas she does, but I have the new dashboard and didn't have to update for Portal 2 so I'm assuming I'm up to date. Fingers crossed.

same here, my PS3 is an old 40 GB spaceshuttle as well. I'm not even going to unwrap the game before I know what's up with all that shit. If it's still wrapped then I can sell it more easily and get the money I spent for it back, heh. If that is necessary. But so far Rockstar still hasn't really given the answers that I'd like to hear regarding this issue.

it's funny how Sony gets slammed for their lack of communication with their customers but in reality all companies seem to be like that. "We got your money, now go fuck yourselves". It sucks quite a bit.

P.S.: You got rid of Uncharted 2? Why?????????? Didn't you have a less awesome game to get rid of?

I finished it! I barely ever replay through a story once I finish it so.. yeah. No point in keeping it! I'll give R* the benefit of the doubt on this one (only cos I essentially got it for free so I don't really mind :P) and wait patiently for them to fix whatever problem might be there.
