uhm, I did not know that...you mean it's down again or?

i think because someone found a way to exploit the password recovery system, so Sony took it down again to work it all out.
I loved playing my PS3, but I got frustrated at some of the console's features being taken away (to tighten security)

I ended up jumping ship to test the waters on the xbox 360 front and i found a lot of cool little gems on the arcade marketplace, plus all the retro stuff i love :P

I got both consoles (+ the Wii) and I like them both. And I don't really blame Sony for all this stuff, yeah their communication with customers sucks but that does not justify what the hackers did. All they've accomplished with their behaviour is pissing off gamers, which they claim to "fight for".

I've been obsessing over this game lately called Limbo (not sure if any of you have played it) on the 360 and as far as a platformer goes, it's amazing :)
really cool sense of atmosphere and one of those few games that doesnt have a sountrack ,instead opting for more subtle sound effects and drones

Mmmmm Limbo. I cry a little inside at the beauty of it every time it's mentioned. I don't have an xbox but I played through it one night till about 6am in my usual pub in the city. I was stoned off my tits and it was absolutely fackin' brilliant, :D

It's such an awesome game. I hope the people that made it make a much longer game soon.

I've had no issues with LA Noire yet, quite a bit into disc 2 on Xbox. And my dad has had none on his PS3 playing it, and he's farther than I am.

Damn good game though!

I'm still waiting for the prices to drop on Portal Kombat before I get either. I'm looking to pick up a couple of cheaper games in the mean time, possibly Burnout Paradise and the first AssCreed.

In other unimportant news, my gamerpenis has now reached 5 digits. :P

hey, Anthony....question...is your pa playing on a fatty or a slim PS3?

decided to finally play through Heavy Rain...so far it's really awesome when it comes to story and character development. But the controls...awful. I'm not talking about the QTE's either. But moving, it just does not work really well and can get really frustrating, especially when time is limited and you need to get to a certain area. Like getting into a bathroom and walk to a toilet to flush down some drugs. That simple task took 3 attempts for me because of the horrible controls. It's like Resident Evil 1's movement controls, just 100 times worse.

So, LA Noire. Don't doubt there's been a fair bit of talk of it here, but I got it yesterday, and it's good and all, but it's just so linear and repetitive (so far, at least). Plus, they build such a massive, beautiful city, and I've not been able to explore it.

that's actually fine by me, at least there's side missions which were completely missing in Mafia 2. And I even enjoyed Mafia 2 for the most part.
This is what actually worries me

Xbox knows not of your foolish PS3 problems!

Anyway, the game is fun for what it is. It just seems like such a waste to create a city that's if I remember rightly, 8 square miles? For perspective, GTAIV was 6 and Mafia II was 4. Anway,it seems a waste if you can't do the little leisure things in a City that massive. As for Mafia II, the story drives itself along nicely and there's a nice bitof variation, thus far, LA Noire seems fairly cut + paste. I'm a couple of hours into disc 2 though, so who knows what the rest of the game will hold.Well, the people who have finished it already will do, but...

All bitching aside, La Noire is fun for what it is. It just feels a bit half baked.

I got both consoles so I won't get involved in the Xbox 360 vs. PS3 BS...but if the game works then the PS3 version of LA Noire just seems to be the best version. And yeah, the game is causing problems for quite a few Xbox AND PS3 users.

As for Mafia 2, I would have liked to at least have a few side missions in the game. I don't need a bar with pool billard or other nonsense in an open world game but a few side missions would have been pretty nice!

To be honest, I can't see side missions being shoehorned into Mafia II that easily. Maybe a couple of things, but not enough to really be worth the few. I see what you mean though, but I don't thinkit would be as effortless as GTAIV or whatever you want to compare it to.

just some assassination missions for the higher ranking mafia bosses for example, bank robbery side missions...dunno...just something! I think an ideal Mafia game would be one that looks and plays like Mafia 2 and has the same amount of content that the first Godfather game had. The Godfather's gameplay may have not been the best (although it's understandable seeing how it was an early next gen title) but the side missions were fun and motivating. I liked how you got more XP (or was it money? Don't remember) by killing specific targets in a specific way. Taking over buildings of the other families and then eventually getting rid of each family and taking over the city was fun too. Dunno, it just seems like games improve on graphics and gameplay but more and more lack content nowadays.

edit: So Mark and keeptheflame...which one of us three will test L.A. Noire on his 40GB PS3?

NOT ME!!!

He has a slim now. His old one finally died on him a few months ago. He was playing on a launch week 60GB Ps3 for the past 6 years I believe? Never had a single problem with it and then he got the "yellow light of death" with his Black Ops disc still inside. I've yet to crack it open to get it out haha
