And I think I'll do it...I'll watch Batman & Robin next. Wish me fun, guys! :help:

First, read the bold. :D
Second, watching the special edition of Batman & Robin is only worth it for the commentary, where you hear Joel Schumacher cry and scream "I'M SORRY, OKAY!!!" Haven't watched it myself, but friends who have done so have assured me the apology is worth it.
Whether I get the Batman anthology or not I have yet to decide. The Superman anthology, now... yeah, like Batman, 3 & 4 sucked, but who knows, they might be worth watching just once to get it out of the way.

The inbetweeners movie

never saw the original TV show.. was dubious about sitting through the movie.

Im glad i did, i dont think i stopped laughing!! great stuff.. obviously this is old news but im one for not seeing it when everyone is going on about it, but im glad to be just behind the times to still be relevant.

still, a little awkward watching a guy masterbate with a packed of ham whilst sitting next to mum on the sofa. if anything, the family ties are stronger now.

a dangerous method
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1571222/

i love david cronenberg and i loathe keira knightly.
i've been anticipating this for almost a year and then i forgot about it a month or so ago. then it starts playing in my town, but only at a $10 theater where i'll have to listen to a bunch of goobers talking, chewing, playing with candy wrappers and generally existing... no thank you. so i downloaded a cam.

my problem is that i've come to expect absolute 4th dimensional insanity from cronenberg because i started watching all his films in reverse order. as i consumed more and more of his movies, they got weirder and weirder and just when i thought i couldn't get any more uncomfortable, along came the next one and yeah, now i'm even MORE uncomfortable. i'm pretty jaded with cinema, so anyone who can still make me cringe and think "man, ain't that some shit" is a winner.
sadly, 'a dangerous mind' didn't deliver the kind of pent-up homosexual tension i was expecting. i'm a jung fangirl so i was way excited to see one of my favorite directors take on one of my favorite thinkers, but it didn't really happen. it was more like two dysfunctional old guys vying for the allegiance of a young dysfunctional woman. not particularly notable cinematically either.

maybe i'm missing something, but i just wasn't too impressed. and knightley makes me rage like nobody's business. i hate her flailing and mugging, i hate her crappy russian accent, i just HATE. ugh. she could have been a rather compelling character if she wasn't so... played by keira knightly.

I liked that, too. But not as much as Despicable Me.

There are few things in life I like as much as Despicable Me!

So did almost everyone at my last station, since we made a coin with a minion:

tee hee, oops. Obviously I meant Batman Returns

Anyways. I actually watched Batman & Robin yesterday and after I was about halfway through I turned on the director's commentary (funny that you mention it, heh) to add some entertainment to the movie as it really is awful. Didn't sound very apologetic actually. But apparently it was quite fun to make the movie, even if the result turned out to be not so fun. My favorite line in the movie: "Vat killed die dinosaurs? Die ice aaaaaaaage!!!!!"

Drive

Not really sure I get all the praise it's been receiving. It just seems tediously slow and overly artsy. The opening scene was very good, and then it just seemed to forget all about stunt driving and car chases. Which is strange considering the main character's job (stunt driver) and job-on-the-side (car mechanic, future race driver) and other illegal job-on-the-side (getaway driver). I expected more chase/getaway driving action and instead was served some gory executions (in an otherwise decent plot). I'm not saying it should've been the next Fast & Furious, but the climax of the movie for me was the opening getaway scene which set the movie up for something it wasn't going to be. All in all not a bad movie, but certainly not what I expected.

That's too bad. Such promise with Ryan Gosling from films like "Lars and The Real Girl". Also, Christina Hendricks is in "Drive", so...yeah. Yum.

The fact you compare it Transformers automatically registers your comment invalid; Drive bears no resemblance whatsoever. The Fast and the Furious for hipsters? Maybe, but that would also be a rather shallow comment, in my opinion. Personally I thought it was great, but I like arthouse subtlety. I have seen some of the director's previous films, so I knew what to expect style-wise.
Clearly this is a film that polarizes audiences, and that's fine, but still, you don't have to be a hipster to appreciate it.
