congrats guys, I'm sure that'll take care of the censorship issues over there. And trust me, it could have been a lot worse, guys. Here in Germany we have an 18+ rating and games still get censored because our governments and child protection institutions are completely retarded, always have been. Sad but true. But there's light at the end of the tunnel. Gears of War 3 will be released here in Germany uncensored. That is the first Gears of War game that gets an official release over here.

Yeah this remains to be seen. It's being reported that some "extreme" games will still get a refused classification rating, but I am hopeful that this is enforced in a reasonable manner, in the same manner that films are usually (not ALWAYS) judged.

I've been involved in law enforcement that dealt with objectionable material and there is plenty of stuff out there that has no place in society. Irony is that it's usually movies, not games, that produces the worst stuff.

Edit... Ok, Gears of War? Wow.

Finished FEAR 3 about a week ago. Fun shooter, that's about it. The story was alright, nothing special. There were no scare moments, it's almost like they gave up on that.

You do unlock Paxton Fettel as a playable character after finishing the story, and he definitely offers a different way to play. I do want to play co-op. I could see that being really fun.

I'm now forcing myself to get into Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. I don't know why I couldn't get into the game when I got it, so I'm now forcing myself to so I can be ready to play Revelations.

Good job on FEAR 3 :) . I've still got a fair way to go on the campaign. Its not that bad so far. Everything is decent enough to handle. Although, I find the environments aren't as open ended as the previous FEAR's and yeah not as scary. Co-op is great fun as well.

I highly recommend Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. I never really indulged that much in the first and second games but this one just came as appealing to me. I guess it was the combat system and the relief of hiring assassin's to take care of annoying soldiers  . Love the Roman history behind it too and the joy of scaling around structures, thats just me.

Mass Effect 2 is AWESOME. Never thought I'd get as into it as I am. It's so engrossing! I spent about 3 hours the other day just reading loads of information things in the codex and stuff. Love it. :D

well, welcome to the club! :D It's awesome indeed! If you got a somewhat good PC then play Mass Effect 1 as well by any means. Even if you can't import your ME1 save game into ME2, it's still worth playing. Otherwise you'd miss out on one of the best video game villains ever (Saren)! And the story is awesome too.

Anyways, I played Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions a bit today and I'm loving it. Love the art style and love the fact that you play in 4 different Spider-Man dimensions. I'm getting all nostalgic when I play that game as I was a big Spider-Man fan when I was a kid. Actually watched all 3 Spider-Man flicks too in anticipation for the game! Heh...

I'm no FPS-fan, although I don't mind shooting/killing/maiming virtuals (GTA, Hitman, AssCreed, Carmageddon). In those games however there are other parts to it rather than just being about killing (general open-world mayhem, stealth, platforming, "racing"). I was a bit disappointed with BioShock because I thought it'd be less of a FPS, but I played it for a few hours and it just failed to suck me in. I guess I was expecting something more along the lines of Fallout, which it isn't.

Anyway, given that, is Mass Effect worth a try?

As a HUGE Fallout fan, and feeling the same way about BioShock, I'd say give ME a try. ( :D ) The spectrum leans a lot more towards FO than BS with ME.

I think I managed to decipher that and I agree. Mass Effect is much more than a 3rd person shooter, it's a brilliant story, has great rpg elements... I just love it.

Oh and I'm FINALLY playing Assassin's Creed 2 and holy snapping arseholes, it freaking rules.

That describes my thoughts on FPS quite well.
And I quite enjoyed Mass Effect 1 and 2, and they should be inexpensive to try as of now, so you should definately give them a try.
I really don't get the hype Bioshock gets...

I shall also say....yes...YES....YES
do yourself a favor and play ME1 and 2. And do it prior to March 2012 because then you'll wanna play ME3 :D

finished Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and loved it. The Noir/stealth sections in general were a lot of fun but I just love the game as a whole. Great art style, fun platforming, pretty good gameplay variety, a big bunch of challenges, lots of stuff to unlock and FUN boss fights. Think I might actually replay it right away before playing anything else. Hopefully Spider-Man: Edge of time will be good too. But seeing how Activision wanted Beenox to get it done within a year as usual I have some doubts.

My only complaint about that game from what I can tell (haven't played it) is that Neil Patrick Harris was the worst spider-man voice actor and they chose to make him the "amazing" version, where that clearly should be Chris Daniel Barnes (the 90s Spider-Man).

To be honest, Neil Patrick Harris is fairly overused for a guy I'm just not a huge fan of, period.

well, it's a video game. The last thing I'll pay attention to is voice actors. But...Barnes is part of the voice acting crew anyways (doing the Noir Spider-Man) and I think it's cool that they integrated several people who were the voice of Spider-Man over the past few decades. Even Dan Gilvezan who's over 60 now.

I know he was, they just should've been switched, but not unlike Joss Whedon, if you're a nerd you're supposed to love NPH. Tired of it.

Voice Acting means a lot to me btw :P (Part of why I'm not huge on most games)
