watched both Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown on Blu-ray and holy hell do they look great! If you got a Blu-ray player and love Tarantino then do yourself a favor and get the Lionsgate/Studiocanal releases because they look amazing. No need to say anything about the movies because everyone knows they rule.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Well now, can't remember last time when 133mins went this fast. Quite enjoyable action, don't bother with too much brain... It's rollercoaster ride and good one at that. Some Finnish color as well in cast, Samuli Edelmann as bad guy so thumb up for that

watched a few movies this weekend
watched Inglourious Basterds, The Road, Drag me to Hell (again) and Hobo with a shotgun. Loved all of them. The Road is fucking excellent, such a wonderfully bleak and depressing setting, great acting, believable characters and a believable world. It may not be a movie you want to see often but it does leave an impression on you.
And Hobo with a shotgun was just fucking outrageous. I loved it. Total nonsense wrapped in extreme movie violence with lots of style. And so fucking bizarre too. If you love movies like Machete and Planet Terror then you should check it out.

Priest: A potentially good cast, some nice atmospheric scenery, sets and sfx but it just fell short of the mark somehow. There were too many sections where my brain saw copycat scenes from Blade Runner, Judge Dredd and Sin City. Now that might have been great but.. this wasn't really. I've seen worse though.

Horrible Bosses on dvd. Not quite as funny as I expected but not too bad either, could be that mild hangover was taxing my sense of humor or something like that... Jennifer Aniston continues to look hot and her dirty mouth character certainly did provoke some thoughts  Watchable.

Melancholia - Absolutely stunning from start to finish. May be like pulling teeth to some but I adored it. Fast becoming a Lars Von Trier fan.
Red State - Fantastic film that shifts gears several times and keeps you off balance. Possibly Kevin Smith's finest hour.
In the Company of Men - This film is sick, and it will likely make you despise Aaron Eckhart like you never thought you could. But it is quite superb.

The A-Team.. Never watched this cos I thought it would be beyond dreadful but it was really good! Rampage Jackson surprised me with his performance in it... Thought he was excellent as B.A... Yer man from District 9 who plays Murdoch had some absolutely great bits as well. I never really watched the original TV series so I dunno how it compares but I was highly entertained!

It was a cheesy romp, the original. Best you see the movie in its own context, I reckon.

I have yet to see the film. I was/am a big fan of the tv series, hence my apprehension. I don't know how much raping there may be (hopefully not of Transformer proportions).

Wife is out of town so got me a bunch of entertainment:

Final Destination 5 Main reason for renting this one was to see how they get those people killed this time. Also this one ties series nicely together at the end of the movie. Also found out that Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is kind of hottie, certainly worth some wood

Fright Night This is the remake of 80's "classic", somehow liked this one better than original. Of course it's total bullshit but I wasn't looking for thinking man's movies... Vampires always suck (damn I'm on fire tonight  ). Actually Colin Farrell performs quite nice. Also noticed that these two movies probably were 3D when in theatre, and that can get bit annoying now and then with all those in your face effects.

Finally Cowboys & Aliens and really don't know what to think of this. Sure, it has Olivia Wilde and bunch of other cool faces, and while idea is pretty sound it's still too confusing somehow. Cowboys and sci-fi just don't mix that nicely together in my opinion, or I'm just getting too old for this shit...
