It was pretty damn cool. Quite some humor, which I didn't expect. The visual effects were amazingly done. Very cool film.

definitely want to see that one too. I recently saw a 'making of' clip on it and it looked like a pretty cool flick.

Hiddos wrote:^It's a really cool movie. I'd definitely recommend it - especially in IMAX 3D stuff. The 3D was very well done.

I was hoping it'd come out in NOT 3D format as I just.. don't like 3D.

Immortals I was expecting more, some nice and gory fighting sequences but otherwise movie seemed bit slow. Average.

Bridesmaids Once again didn't quite meet expectations, some funny bits (like Kristen Wiig's imitation of penis) but basically this is chick movie with slight nod to male audience.

It's kind of a funny story - really sweet and quirky :)

Kenny - absolutely brilliant! - "there's a smell down here that's gonna outlast religion"

Talented Mr Ripley - I'd never bothered seeing it before, but it was actually pretty good

Peggy Sue Got Married. My girlfriend had it on the instant queue so I took a gander. It was pretty cool.

The Big Year. I absolutely loved this movie. Weird documentary/comedy hybrid about bird-watching. Based on a true story, I think.

John Carter

I liked it, books are familiar to me from my youth so this was very nostalgic trip. That been said, I kind of hope that this is one time deal. Sure, Carter did lots of epic adventures in Mars but somehow this wraps it up nicely. And IF there is going to be sequel, please please please no Transformers type of nonsense.

Redline - An eye poppingly gorgeous Anime with just about the least subtle "boy meets girl" subtext I've ever seen.
I'd recommend a hi-def version of it to truly appreciate the intense visuals and bombastic soundtrack.
The climax is... well, it's definitely a climax. That much is for certain. :)

That's a shame it didn't do well but I suspect it'd be because most people have no familiarity with the John Carter stories and possibly Disney didn't really market it correctly in light of that. I enjoyed the movie well enough though. It felt a little bit slow to get going but overall I thought it was an enjoyable and impressive watch.

I actually felt that slight slowness suited well for the movie, it gave it more "traditional" feel.

That's a fair point.
