I always considered Moneyball a very good movie but not a great one. It's the best kind of film that kind of film could be, but it can't possibly be transcendental.

Moneyball
Pretty good, but not as great as I thought it would be. Nice to see Jonah Hill and Chris Pratt in more dramatic roles.

Rango
Excellent animation, plus Olyphant. Yay!

Marley & Me
I've never cried so much during a movie, and even afterward. I'm pathetic.

50/50
Really enjoyed it, plus it takes place in Seattle. Anything Seattle makes me happy.

He's been in some good movies, eg The Fighter. And some stinkers, eg Planet of the Apes. Hit and miss, like his acting.

But the man was in Boogie Nights and to everyone who was involved in making that movie I will be forever grateful.

I quite like him, he has indeed been in some decent roles.

^Hahah! The Troll Hunter is hilarious :D
I'm surprised how that film made it outside of Norway. I would have thought it had too many inside jokes.

I decided to watch two films I watched relentlessly when I was about 11. Eva & Adam (swedish film) and The Parent Trap (please don't hate me). I still know the lines by heart. :D

The Eagle Has Landed.

Had never seen it before. It has flaws, but I couldn't help but love it.

The romance element is RIDICULOUS, and Donald Sutherland's shitty Irish accent almost detracted from his charm. The way the American soldiers held and fired their weapons and generally acted "soldiery" made me laugh. And Larry Hagman's bumbling idiot character... well, justice is served eventually I guess.

But I couldn't help but love it anyway. Michael Caine is good, and I was hanging for more of Donald Pleasence as Himmler and of course Robert Duvall. ROBERT DUVALL AS A GERMAN COLONEL WITH AN EYE PATCH, CHAIN-SMOKING RUSSIAN CIGARETTES.

I'll stop shouting now. I haven't seen Guns of Navarone or Where Eagles Dare since I was a lad so I'm going to watch them as soon as I can, I feel inspired. Might have to dig out some old Medal Of Honor games too.

A film that I, for some god-only-knows-why reason, have never seen before - Gangs of New York. Wow.

Unguarded.

Doco on Chris Herren, former NBA basketballer who all but destroyed his life with drugs.

The film is essentially narrated by a compilation of his speeches to various groups, detailing his life and his descent into major drug addicition, spliced with interviews and file footage.

Found it quite gripping and I liked that Herren didn't sugar coat his story. As he tells people at the start of his speech, he's not trying to motivate anyone or help them set goals, he just shares his story of how fucked up his life got. You can tell that although he's been sober a few years, he still battles with it. Intense and worth watching.

Battleship. My God...Makes Transformers seem like Oscar material.
I sat through the whole thing wishing the main character would die.

Tower Heist Quite enjoyable, haven't seen Eddie Murphy for a while but nice to see that familiar grin is still there. Could have been a bit tighter, but otherwise ok.

Hysteria Wife's choice but managed to surprise, uptight british inventing vibrator... Can't really go wrong there

And finally Johnny English Reborn Total bollocks...
