I tried to watch that one but just couldn't get past the first 20 minutes. It's incredibly awful. I somehow managed to get through 'Postal' and don't know how I managed to do that. But it's pretty damn bad too.

The worst thing about Uwe Boll? He can't take criticism, or even learn from it, instead preferring to challenge critics to boxing matches like a brainless bodybuilder instead of being mature and ignoring it. Michael Bay is one of the worst out there, and he just laughs critics off, no matter how harsh they or the audiences are.
Boll is just dickhead about it. Perhaps he should be a professional fighter instead of filmmaker, as he seems to be better at the former.

Watched Black Death with Sean Bean. Pretty good film, captures that era nicely. Bean is great no matter what he does.

Wait, there's a Postal movie? As in, derived from the game Postal?

He did one loosely based on the game: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486640/.

Never saw it myself, don't need to.

Ghost Rider - Spirit of Vengeance It's a damn shame that these Ghost Rider movies are mediocre at best, character deserves much better than this. It has some moments but not many, and I really hate that jerking style filming (where picture goes fast for second or even worst, backwards). Cage probably got some kicks out of this, showcasing all those overacting manouvers of his...

The Inbetweeners Bunch of guys going to holiday in search for pussay, and ther you have it. Nice afternoon fun, but once again could have been much funnier... Don't know, maybe I'm expecting too much from movies these days...

that describes his video game based shit flicks best, really. They are 'loosely based' on the games and you don't need to see them. Bloodrayne, House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, etc. I just don't understand why any studio would fund ANY of his movies.

Highlander III: The Sorcerer, also known as Highlander III, Highlander III: The Magician, Highlander III: The Final Dimension, Highlander: The Final Dimension and Highlander 3: The Final Conflict.... Holy crap! Finally finished this, have been watching it in bits (5-10 minutes at time). What a turd! Kind of like Deborah Unger though, not acting mind you but every other way :classic:

sooooo I watched the following flicks, still riding on a big ole sci-fi wave:

Super 8
Tron
Inception
Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior
Equilibrium

each on Blu-ray, of course because I'm a total cunt for high-def.

I must say I really liked Super 8 a lot. Yeah it could have used some more alien action and focused quite a bit on the kids and the love story between two of them. But I still enjoyed it greatly. Somewhere between Stand by Me and E.T. I'd say, with a little bit of Cloverfield mixed in. The lense flare crap keeps it from being visually perfect though.

and the Italian Blu-ray of Equilibrium is wonderful! Loved the picture quality and the audio quality is pretty amazing too. And it only cost me 12 Euros (shipping included) instead of the 90 Euros that the Japanese release would have cost me.

Black Swan, was good-ish. I like films that have a lot of it did/didn't really happen moments in but it kinda took it too far for me. Still, nicely shot and I liked the contrast between still, calm, tense scenes with dramatic, traumatic scenes.

The Dead Zombie movie set in Africa. Some nice scenery and fairly brutal head bashing scenes and slow moving walkers in this one. And actually whole movie seems bit slow, some 10-15 minutes shorter and this would be bit tighter. Not bad but not great either.

The Last Circus (or Balada Triste de Trompeta). Now this is something different, Spanish movie in drama/tragicomic genre. Now if you have somekind fobia about clowns, then best avoid this one. There's nothing too funny about these guys...

And finally Snow White and the Huntsman in theatre. Saw it yesterday and this morning when I was pushing turd I thought that movie was bit samey, you feel relieved when it's finally over. Some nice effects and Charlize Theron is hot as ever, not enough to save this one though.

10mph

Brilliant concept. I'm not sure the execution was quite as good, but still really enjoyed it. It had incredible personal relevance too....stuck in a soulless, corporate job (although the 8 hr days and plentiful money they talked about would be an improvement!) ....now, if only I had enough life and passion left in me to find my 'thing'

Iron Sky

after WWII the Nazis escape to the moon and decades later they decide to come back to take over Earth. Sounds great in concept so what could possibly go wrong? I don't even know where to begin. I wanted to love it, might have had unfulfillable expectations and ended up feeling very underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, the special effects are amazing considering the movie's budget but the writing, acting and humor...eeeeeh. It was like watching a Friedberg/Seltzer movie with terrific special effects (for a European low budget movie anyways). I may watch it again in a few weeks, maybe I'll enjoy it more when I know what to expect.

The Thing (2011)

now for whatever reason I enjoyed this one more than I expected. There's quite a lot of stuff shown that leads into JC's The Thing from '82. You can see that it was important to the makers of this movie to pay great attention to detail. And it wasn't all CGI either. If you watch the 'making of' then you can surely see that. So yeah, I was pleasantly surprised.

Silent Running

this is basically a hippie science fiction movie. A group of astronauts, one of them a tree hugger (I don't mean that in a negative way but in his case that expression just fits), is supposed to take care of Earth's last exisiting plants that are being kept in several greenhouses in space. Until they get orders to destroy them all and cancel the mission. That's when the tree hugger freaks out because he can't let them other guys destroy the trees and plants. Sounds weird and awfully 'hippie' but it is actually a very good movie. And apparently a major influence on the movie 'Moon' which is VERY obvious when you watch Silent Running. Recommended.

Silent Running is indeed a good movie. Very much of its 70s time period but still a good movie. Bruce Dern was excellent.
