Expendables 2 today. They are definitely getting old but luckily weapons get bigger too 8) Oh, and Chuck Norris with bit of self-irony. Enjoyable, and probably third movie is a go?

Deadgirl Zombie movie with a twist. Unfortunately that twist doesn't really save movie, and ending isn't as big surprise as they would have wanted it to be. There is not even enough gore... Bare tits are not enough if they are rotting, you know

Battleship Some decent effects and would benefit from some tightening, otherwise quite forgettable.

Grim monoloque continues...

Antichrist Well here's a mind fuck for you all. Hard to tell if I liked or hated it, but thought provoking non the less.

Meeting Evil Samuel L. Jackson can pull his role as cold blooded killer with ease, anything else fails in this movie. It just doesn't deliver, and if you look for gore fest then look elsewhere.

Wrong Turn 4 Well gore fest is here but what a sorry effort that is. And nothing really changes in these movies either, victims act as stupid as always.

For these three movies I would rate Antichrist highest, not your average sunday afternoon entertainment for sure but worth watching.

Hunger Games. Liked it quite a bit, actually. Pretty predictable and forced in parts (also one scene of atrocious green screening) but I enjoyed it. Made me want to read the books as I imagine they go a lot deeper into the world.

I got shoehorned into this whole Hunger Games fad too, I must admit. After seeing the first movie, I'd have to say it was pretty mediocre, with paper-thin characters (to put it in context; the only character that wasn't entirely one-dimensional was a drunken Woody Harrelson), predictable plot and just enough teenage-girl appeal and fan raving for it to just annoy me by existing. Even without the pretentious hate factor, I found the movie to be way overrated. It was watchable, which is more than I can say for most teen-girl franchises, but the point still stands.

The Expendables 2 Liked it more than I thought I would. Just like the original, it's a "shoot first, ask questions maybe later and after the catchphrases" kinda deal.
The extra CG made most of the action look like a video game, but it had a better story and more enjoyable character moments. I also liked Jean Claude Van Damme better as a villain than Eric Roberts (just look at his name - Vilain!).
The one-liners and in-jokes are abound, unashamedly. I laughed through most of the last 20 minutes.
Worth watching if you liked the first one.

I would recommend watching director's cut of the first movie, it's slightly better than theatrical release. Not much extra action though, but more character development...sort of 8)

Saw Warrior on netflix the other day.

I'm not an MMA fan at all, but it didn't matter. Really good movie.

Really good. :)

Safe Jason Statham really kicks some serious ass in this one, very real looking action with touch of dry humor. Recommended for action fans.

American Reunion Final (hopefully) part of American Pie series, old gang meet in their high school reunion. Actually quite funny in time to time, and since these folks are older now some added drama too (not for Stifler though  ). Slightly too long for this type of movie, otherwise ok.

So I just got back from The Expendables 2. It was pretty good, taking the premise of the original and adding even more over-the-top action bits. The humor was well-executed enough as well (one particular bit involving Schwarzenegger, Statham, and a small electric car comes to mind) I'd definitely see it on the big screen while you still can, rather than waiting for home media.

Jurassic Park trilogy on Blu-Ray.

All look great and sound excellent. The original has lost none of it's impact, no matter how many times I see it (the audio is most impressive here). The Lost World I still think is fun, and worth seeing restored. JP 3 is still one big pile of shit, but as long as it's viewed as dinosaur eye-candy, without the hope of substance, is entertaining enough. Though I still believe a T-Rex, despite being smaller than a Spinosaurus, could have easily won the battle on account of its stronger jaw. Meh, that's Hollywood.

The Dark Knight Rises - It was teh titz! Loved it. Totally confused though... will probably watch again.

The Hunger Games - Cool! I really liked how Katniss was portrayed. Some of the deaths were a bit trivialised though.

Hodejegerne (head hunters) - Good, but compared to the book... it didn't make sense why they reduced the plot twist so much. I can understand why they removed the part where the mad Dutch-Danish guy took a dump on the protagonist though.

Ted - Pretty entertaining, hilarious at times, but a very predictable plot. I suppose it's real-life (well, y'know) Family Guy without the cutaways.
