Identity is the best I think, as it's the freshest and most coherent of them all, thus I enjoyed that one the most. The plots for all the sequels appear increasingly contrived. I suppose at the end there's a secret government agency overseeing a secret government agency overseeing a secret government agency etc etc. Kinda wishing I hadn't bothered with Legacy as that one featured all sorts of stupid.

I haven't seen Legacy but I'm with you on the other 3. Identity was great, one of the better modern action films for mine. The sequels suffer from being sequels to a film that works, in part, because you're along for the ride with Bourne as he works out who he is. Like Neo in the Matrix (and countless thousands of other protagonists in other movies, ha!), you discover the truth through their eyes... get that element right and you're halfway to making me happy as a viewer.

The other half is via the hole in the bottom of the popcorn box.

^ Yeah, exactly. Which is another of the reasons why Legacy is bad. I suppose the only redeeming factor for that film is the performance of the lead actors (particularly Rachel Weisz), but if you haven't seen it I wouldn't recommend it. It'll tarnish your nice memories of the Bourne series. ;)

Saw Argo last night. Impressive setting and story, light-hearted where it needs to be, and the tension just keeps building and building to the very end. Quite excellent.

Thanks for the tip! I have access to both at the moment, so if I do have time for a movie this weekend I'll make it Argo rather than Bourne. Although Skyfall is calling me also.

Cheers!

After some quite dissapointing movies it's nice to see something decent, and even though Cruise isn't exactly my favorite actors he has some moments. This is one of them, Collateral was also very effective Cruise film. Oh yes, Kingslayer is here too 8)
Spoiler: show
Very instant that cloning aspect was revealed, movie Moon came to mind. Here it's obviously in very larger scale but still nice twist

This.

Went in with hopes high and wasn't disappointed. However I couldn't help but notice how strikingly similar the weapons, set, costume and music are to the Mass Effect series though. Now waiting for the release of After Earth! :D

Paranorman. Beautiful characters and animation, really funny, beautiful touches, a very bold story and absolutely bags of charm. The story seemed to drag out a little towards the back end, and I'm not sure if it was 100% a kids movie, or 100% for grown ups but other than that, wow!

Django Unchained Great characters, especially Christoph Waltz. Althought bit long, it didn't feel too dragged out.

Seven Psychopaths Now here could be great characters but somehow they're not, and while not as long as Django it did feel twice that time... Watch but don't expect greatness.

Evil Dead 2013 that is. I liked it, darker and better fx what's not to like. Sure, it could have been little fiercer towards end but still nice. And I've heard that they are going to release bloodier version on BD, good...good...

in the US they only released the regular R-rated cut on Blu-ray so don't get your hopes up, brah!

I watched the remake of Maniac. Holy hell, sick shit. But I enjoyed it. Loved the whole artistic decision to have most of the movie shot in first person view. Watched it with a friend and we both liked it, as sick as it was.

Well, we have to see, maybe unrated version is out once they cash in on the regular version (isn't that the case always...). Anyways, watched Payback on BD containing theatrical release & director's cut and latter was the case this time around as I haven't seen that before, probably first time that I think theatrical release version is better. DC is like completely different movie, with different ending and boss character.

Watched two movies this week (usually it's one a month so a step up!)

Four Lions is about a group of really bad wannabe terrorists. The humour ranged from dry to slapstick, some moments were a bit too stupid but overall it was very good.

Imaginaerum the Nightwish film is... uhmm, very Nightwish-y. The story is a bit confusing to start with but once you figure out who's who (there's a few characters shown in different ages played by different actors and actresses) it all fits together nicely and the story isn't very Hollywood which was refreshing. The visuals are exactly what you'd expect, very pretty and gothic. My only real issue was the near-constant Nightwish songs being forced down your throat. I understand it's all about the creative process of a fictional version of the band but still. At one point during a conversation a character gets out her phone and puts Nightwish on... so not only is it inappropriate because the conversation is actually quite sensitive but you get to hear tinny-Nightwish throughout it. It was a decent film though, just that one thing kinda bugged me.

Ted, unrated version.

Pretty much the same thing, just with a few extra gags and alternate dialogue. I still enjoyed it, particularly one scene where Ted discovers a basement of horrors. Good for a laugh.

Bullet to the Head Very 80's style action and over acting, very Stallone. Not a masterpiece by any standards but quite enjoyable action anyway.

Repo Man

loved it. Very bizarre flick from the 80's with great characters, plenty of humor and just lots of 80's cheese. They just don't make movies like this anymore. I mean, times change and stuff that worked back then may not work anymore nowadays but damn, the 80's produced some real neat gems!

We watched that the first night before we started meeting up to work on our movie. One of my favorites.
