Guess I'll be taking 2nd half of September and the whole of October off then.

Maybe November too. :D

Currently replaying Arkham Asylum (hard difficulty this time), by the way.

I'm playing Far Cry 3. Excellent game but I'm having issues with going back to playing it and I have to do many of the levels all over again.

wellllll...it sounds like Aliens : Colonial Marines is a pretty shitty game. I'm so glad now that I didn't pre-order it. For a moment I actually considered buying the collector's edition for 100 Euros. :?

in other news: I'm currently playing Silent Hill 4: The Room and really loved it so far. But after you're through half of the game you pretty much have to revisit all locations again, ugh. That kind of sucks and may keep me from replaying it again as I've seen everything twice already in one playthrough. Oh well, good atmosphere though and it's a pretty weird game with a pretty bizarre and good story.

League of Legends, all day, errday. All other "normal" games just take too much of my attention and time and it has a negative effect on my life. So due to this it appears my brain has developed some sort of "I get bored of games instantly"-thing, and this is the only thing that fists me. Superfun game though. And free! (to an extent) yeeeeee

Yep, had a look at those reviews, somehow it's getting lower marks than Aliens Vs. Predator. That's uh... well, my interest has decreased.

my thoughts exactly. I thought it would at least get better reviews than AvP did. When your game gets worse reviews than a game made by Rebellion than your game really sucks
And it's amazing how apparently disasterous the console versions are. In several reviews I read that the textures are the worst the reviewers have seen in a long time. And objects pop in and out, including the guns you're holding in the game. Awesome.... Wonder why no one seems to be able to make a proper Alien game.

As long as you limit it to just the one thing.

Finished Arkham Asylum on hard last weekend, now pondering whether to go through Arkham City again or have a look at New Vegas and finish it this time around. Fortunately I can ponder for about a month or so as I doubt I'll have spare time anywhere in between.

Yay? :P

Arkham City on Hard Mode and its New Game Plus to follow should keep you occupied for a long time. Best to wait for a less committed period.

Just read Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition was allowed the R-rating here. Sweet. Guess I don't have to lie now if I ever want to get a PSN account.

Ok, I have worked out what I was doing wrong with Far Cry 3. It's now an awesome game :)

still in Silent Hill mode...now kinda playing Silent Hill 1, 4 and Origins :D Sort of stopped playing Origins for now though untill I got an s-video cable for my PS2 which apparently makes PS2 games look at least sorta good on an LCD screen. My RGB cable didn't really satisfy me yet and although RGB is usually better than s-video, it seems like that ain't the case when it comes to the PS2. RGB oversharpens the pic and makes it look kinda blocky. I'm gonna have to play around with it all a little more once I got the s-video cable.

Strangely enough, the Gamecube doesn't have that prob. Looks fine on an LCD screen with an RGB cable. Surprisingly good actually.

Also, Silent Hill 1 still scares the shit out of me, despite the ancient PS1 graphics. :D

I had an "Ooh, something shiny!" moment recently and bought Doom 3: BFG edition. Yes, I know, extraneous, but it was on sale. And I was disappointed with the censored Wolfenstein levels in Doom II. It's not just about the lack of SS officers, but Zombie troopers pose almost no threat, even in Ultra-Violence.

Still, in spite of the awful loading my PS3 experiences for all the games, the ready to go flashlight making harder, darker bits easier to access (and in certain moments taking away potential thrills), no cheat codes (I know, boo-hoo) and the censored Doom II levels, I'm not displeased with my purchase.

The Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil campaigns are effectively as they were on PC, so I get to play their intended versions (I only had the old XBox versions) and the HD transfer is pretty good. The Lost Missions are also cool, even though I completed them in under 3 hours on Veteran mode. Still, there was one part of RoE that for some reason wasn't featured here which disappointed me (you're in a blue hazy area fighting off hordes of imps, hell knights and mancubi).

At least the original Doom was complete, and the Doom II: No Rest For The Living campaign was impressive - I'd compare it on Ultra-Violence to most of the UV Master Levels maps in terms of difficulty.

So, overall, not a bad purchase, just not the most necessary. Would be so much better if the developers had stood their ground and let the Wolfenstein levels remain as uncensored, but I've got them on a different format, so there you go.

you can blame Germany for the censored levels. I bet they did that so they could release one international version of the game globally. And swastikas in video games are illegal here as they are considered unconstitutional. Strangely enough they are not forbidden in movies. Yeah, I do not understand my country either.
