Aaah Funky Forest, weird movie. The Taste of Tea by the same director may be my favourite movie (much less weird, much more poetical, but still with a touch of eccentricity), but FF was too weird for me.

Some sequences are great ("guitar brother", "the volume") and the lead actress is really cute, but some others like this one don't make any sense and are quite dragging. Maybe you need some Japanese folklore knowledge to appreciate some of this, or maybe it's just plain absurd.

Regarding Taste of Tea, if you're in the mood for two and a half hours of a slooow but poetical movie which should hopefully leave you with a big smile on your face, then go for it.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. Some of my friend's younger brothers and kids at the school I used to go to have been doing it....I just don't see how it could be fun? I just sorta think, how many hours of your lives are you wasting...lying facedown on things for no apparent reason. It's silly, but hey, I guess as long as they're not stupid about it it's better kids be doing that then off doing drugs and vandalising stuff for entertainment.

Y'know, thats a good point there. Maybe next time someone tells me to do drugs I'll say "No thanks, too busy planking" .

But yeah, though I find it silly to do, I would like to see kids do that late at night in the streets, rather than causing violence in the city.
