Quick update! I just cracked the shits as I want to know what the cause is, so I'm off to see a GP at 2pm today. I don't deal well with sitting around waiting! 8)

Back from the doc.

He said it sounds like fairly typical GORD/GERD and said that's almost sure to be what's causing the throat issues.

I'm on Nexium, taking smaller meals more frequently, won't eat too close to bedtime, and he told me to prop the bed up with bricks!

So the plan is to see if that all helps (and I'll follow your tips, Lars) for the next month. Doc also recommended a gastroscopy when I relocate so I will do that ASAP.

Feels good to possibly have some answers!

Yeah, I've got this really good stuff, I think it's called O'Keefe's working hands. It works really well, it's just I work at a dental lab, and I'm mixing up stone all day and washing my hands, so they just dry out super quick. I've never needed lotion in my life before this. My hands have always been fine without it.

But after reading all about your un-awesomeness, I'm alright with the occasional dry hand irritations. :/ I hope you can get all that sorted out and be able to reverse the negative effects. Best of luck to you on that front.

Thanks very much, that's very cool of you.

I'll be right! Spent a great afternoon in the sunshine with my little boy and my wifey and all troubles are forgotten. Glad to have some idea of what's causing it all so I can get in with managing it.

I think I've had my share of ailments now, thanks very much universe!

glad you're getting your problems taken care of! And I agree, a gastroscopy will give you pretty much all answers that scans can't. Keep me posted! :)

Nothing like spending time with the love of your life making all bad things go away. :) Gotta love it.

Glad things are working out thus far.

Trying to practice cardistry: something I've always wanted to be able to do. I don't usually swear, but fuck it's hard. :chain:

Woke up today and read about the Los Angeles airport shooting.

At least there were minimal casualties, but still. And I just know even more people are going to scramble to buy guns because even more right wing extremists are going to be up in arms (pun intended) about protecting/exploiting the 2nd amendment.

To hell with it.

This sleeplessness is going to be the end of me. I just filled a dirty cup with water and poured it into the trash can with zero hesitation. I have to be at the lab at 8 tomorrow morning. This will go just fine, yeah sure.

edit: And he delivers! Because of a decimal point error eight hours of work was done for absolutely nothing. Hurray for insomnia! :coucou:

Not nearly as un-awesome as lots of things in this thread, but...
I got a new (pre-owned) phone two weeks ago (HTC One X, as early Christmas present from my dearest :) ). Its WiFi was broken, and the camera had spots in it. Sadly I only found out about both when I got home. after a few days, wifi stopped working completely.
So last Tuesday it got picked up to be fixed (it still had/has warranty). Got it back this morning! :D
Yay, they replaced the screen and battery! Wait, what? Why? I don't know, but the wifi and camera are still broken. They replaced a screen that wasn't broken. Derp.

I guess I'll send it back again now. :?

EDIT: I didn't get a broken phone for Christmas. I got the money for a phone, and bought a broken one. My fault, not hers!

Annoyed at an "Uncle Noah" song by The Wiggles, I googled to see if they have many other Old Testament tales in their repertoire.

And instead I found the worst forum in the world.

http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=8914

Warning: Unless you support "corrective rape" and believe that all the wrongs of this world are a "liberal conspiracy" that is targeting you personally, you will find the views expressed there to be distasteful at best. Hateful, ignorant pigs giving good Christians like my grandmother a bad name.

Deeply un-awesome.
