In a moment of idiocy and boredom, I just ended up watching an episode of Desperate Housewives.

I was taken aback by a number of different things. Firstly, the women seem incapable of any semblance of monogamy (as the title might suggest); basically succumbing to absolutely any pass which is made at them. Granted, the guys are fucking ridiculous looking (pec-laden tanned blond bags of penis) and all seem to be able to cook and clean and support a family which leaves the ladies time to have their affairs. But I just absolutely can't believe how shallow and evil everyone in that show is. This is why I don't watch TV. I hate the world enough already without having the idea that there are big neighbourhoods full of people fucking each other's partners somewhere in the world.

Or indeed that a tv show about a neighbourhood where nobody has the capacity to feel anything but fleeting desire for another person even appeals to that many millions of people.

I don't know so much, but, is Sex and the City similar? I ended up seeing an episode of that and thought it was horrible too (for the same reasons), but that might have just been a bad episode to watch, or me being a n00b.

Me and leech watched about twenty seconds of the Sex & the City film by accident the other day and it was about somebody shitting themself in front of their girlfriends. I wouldn't insult my own intelligence by inflicting myself with that drivel.

I did watch Six Feet Under for a while, it's a VERY morbid American comedy series but the characters are so engaging and the storylines really are very interesting and endearing. That and Arrested Development are the only two American tv things I've ever had an interest in, I fucking love AD although I can't say I'm too pleased about the genres Michael Cera has found himself fucked into. I watched a bit of Superbad the other day; they really thought about that title because that film is SUPER bad. Just like Sex Drive (fuck you Morten, wasted two hours of my life!) and Knocked Up and all those other retarded "All teens do is drugs and have sex and party all the time and are not remotely individual in any way" films.
