Well put.

From Mars To Sirius has an incredible feeling to it, though just about all of their work is great.

Yes, they do indeed.
Had the immense pleasure of seeing them in a tiny venue last year. They managed to pack an enormous sound into a very small place.
It seems to me that any SYL fan will probably really love Gojira.

Gojira is wonderful indeed It is great that Devin has heard them, as I am sure I am not alone in thinking that parts of FMTS sound very SYL-like. Not to say they are the same thing at all, but just that it seems very logical to me that fans of Devin/SYL are also big fans of Gojira.
I also find it very interesting and cool, that although they are a 'death metal' band of some sort, that the lyrics are all really about environmental issues. I read in a recent Kerrang interview that they are all members of Greenpeace. Its just refreshing to hear something so crushingly heavy that isnt totally morbid, for a change anyway.
Has anyone seen the live DVD 'The Link Alive'...it is probably the most impressive metal DVD I have ever seen. Incredible performance and atmosphere.
Also, has anyone here heard the 1st album? That is the only thing I have yet to get.

The Link Alive is indeed my favorite metal DVD (SYL's DVD coming close second of course

)
and you can buy their first album for sure (like all of their albums)
if you know their DVD, "Clone", "Lizard Skin", "Blow Me Away You(Niverse)", "Space Time" and "Love" are on the first album and they're far from being the shittiest songs
for those of you who still don't know this band, you'll find tons of their videos on youtube, or simply buy their live album "The Link Alive" (CD+DVD)

and finally you can listen to ALL their songs on their official website (in the "medias" section) :

PS : no, I'm not a bot spamming the board, just a French guy trying to sell his local products

Been a fan of these frenchies for some years now, and finally got to see them live at last year's Hole in the Sky festival in Bergen. Killer show! They made a lot of new fans that night.

yup, really dig them too....From Mars To Siruis was one of the best Albums of 2005 IMO and still is one of my favorite Albums today. It's kind of like Neurosis meets SYL meets Meshuggah. Can't wait to hear new stuff by them.

They really do dont they! I'm seeing them live again in a month or so as they are supporting Trivum over here in England. Not a fan of Trivium myself, but, Gojira, oh yes.
I saw them in one of the tents at download just before SYL went on the main stage, so that was a pretty good day of live music for me it must be said. From Mars To Sirus really is an amazing album, glad to hear you like them Dev!
