Hey lads

As some of you may know Sodom toured Australia for the first time in their 25 year career. I was lucky enough to see them on their first show in Melbourne. It looked like the show pretty much sold out, the turn out was massive. There were afew ups and downs, mainly to do with the first band "Killrazor" who's flight got cancelled but Gospel of the Horns took their place in the mean time.

Sodom put on a great performance, it's good to see they finally made it down.

Here is a review I posted on afew other forums. I hope you enjoy the pics and vids. 8)

My review wrote:I just got back from the show. It was bloody amazing, I still can't believe Sodom are in Australia after 25 years. The turn out was fantastic, i'd say the show got close to selling out.

There was a malfunction with one of the bands, supposedly their flight got canceled and the first band couldn't open. So they made a quick roster change and put Gospel of the Horns up first. It was a long time since I last saw Gospel, and I gotta say, they were brilliant...more so then the last time I saw them which was around 2001 I believe. They played decent set and showcased a new song which I didn't get the name of but did tape it on my camera, which i'll share with you in the morning cos it takes to long to upload videos and im dead tired. :P

When Sodom hit the stage everyone was abit shocked at first, I think they were still coming to grips with Sodom actually being in Australia. Everyone pretty much gasped for afew seconds then in a eruption of chaos everyone went mental when the first note was played. I forgot the name of most of the songs played, because I don't own all the albums.

But from what I remember, they played.

The Saw Is The Law
Nuclear Winter
Agent Orange
Eat Me
Blasphemer
Obsessed By Cruelty
Augustbombt
Napalm in the Morning
Remember The Fallen
Sodomy and Lust
Blood on your Lips
Axis of Evil
City of God
Among the Weirdcong
Wachturm
Outbreak of Evil
Ace of Spades
Bombenhagel

They played just over an hour and a half, which is pretty decent for a first time tour in Australia. There were some pretty funny moment in the show aswell. Half way through the show, Tom yelled out "Good evening Austria"...he stood there for a second then slapped his head, and then replied "Excuse my bad English". Everyone seem to get abit of a giggle out of it.

Here is a taste of some of the pics I took, i'll upload more in the morning when I get out of bed. I also taped 3 Sodom songs which you will be happy to know turned out great, plus there is a special appearance by a young man on guitar on Augustbombt. I don't know why he was up on stage, but he was pretty good...seems he was a local aswell, hails from Melbourne.

The only downside to the night was the lighting for Sodom, they could have had some better lighting in some part of the set, by aside from all that the sound was great and the turn out was spot on.

The Tasmanian show will be on an upcoming DVD, so look out for that. I'll be on the DVD aswell. Tom was waving a camera about at the Melbourne show. 8)

That would be the "Lords of Depravity Pt. II"-DVD, the first one is already available since last year, it`s a history of the Band containing the years `82 - `95, the second part will contain the years `96 till now. I`m really looking forward to the second part, the first one is just great, a prime example for Bandhistory-DVDs. And a lot of fun, too!
