I actually liked the last two albums (Adore & Machina) for their personal sound and songwriting. Not the world's best records as a whole, but there are many little gems to be found on both. It will be interesting to hear what they've come up with now..
listened to it yesterday....I like it quite a bit actually. Might have to pick it up. I always had problems with Corgan's vocals but I think I got over it.
I also enjoyed the last 15 or 20 minutes of their Rock am Ring gig with Uli Jon Roth joining them on stage...that was pretty cool.
As a big pumpkins fan, I'm probably quite unusual in that I had no real expectations for this album.
I'm quite enjoying it actually...not sure it's going to displace any previous pumpkins albums in my heart, but I just like that it's not really trying to be anything other than what it is. It's not trying to recreate everything that every other pumpkins album was
I had a quick listen at JB Hifi when I went to buy the album for my friend's birthday, it's pretty good I liked some of the heavier tracks on the album, reminded me abit of Machina but not so gay. Good album indeed.
