For the uninformed: MST3K was a show that started off as a local program, but was picked up by the Comedy Channel (which eventually turned into Comedy Central), and eventually the Sci-Fi channel. The premise is simple - one man (Joel in the first, uhh, 4 1/2 seasons and Mike Nelson in the remaining 5 or so) and two robots (Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot) are held captive on a bone shaped space vehicle, called the Sattelite Of Love, and are forced to watch terrible old B-movies by their captors. While watching said movies (you see their silhouettes at the bottom of the screen), they heckle and riff on it, just as any good b-movie fan would (which is the main draw of the show). They've estimated they do around 700 jokes per episode.

Not sure how good it sounds on paper, but the finished product is one of the funniest things ever.

Any other fans here?

I love this stuff. I never really got to see it on TV, because we didn't get cable until after the year it stopped, but every time I saw it I was completely laughed out. What a classy show. Everybody just needs to go to Blockbuster or whatever is nearby and rent MST3K the Movie and watch that. It's a very good introduction to likely the funniest show I've ever watched...

I love that show! I miss watching it on Comedy Central. I think it was on every Saturday (?). The movie is also incredibly funny.

Damnit, I miss Kids in the Hall as well.

MST3K was one of my favorite TV shows. My favorite episodes were "The Final Sacrifice," "I Accuse My Parents," and "Devil Fish."

So many quotes, so little time... 8)

Best TV-show ever. Funnier than Seinfeld, Black Adder and Al Bundy shitfaced in a boat full of one-armed dwarves.

The one-armed dwarves would be the best part of that anyway.

I think my favorite episode ever would have to be Squirm - you know, the one about the worms that eat people? Any of you ever watch that one?

"Look, he's trying to disguise himself as a worm."

:D
