...can someone at least change the settings so you can read the forum without having to log in. I still—what's it been, six months or a year now?—have to log in TWO times...EVERY time I come to this forum. I also can't change any of my profile settings without changing my password at the same time.

This is actually keeping me from visiting this forum more often. How many others are in the same boat? I assume Devin would like to not inconvenience his fans. Does anyone work on the forum software anymore?

Ah, I thought that I was the only one with this problem since I hadn't seen others mention it yet since I started visiting here. What I do now is just click on some forum sub category. That way I only need to log in once. If I log in at the top and then try to browse the forum I need to log in again.

I also get some error/bug sometimes when I post a reply. It says something about mail failed if I recall right but the message does get posted anyway I've noticed.

Since were on the topic of forums, when will the Fear Factory forums be back online?

I'd also like to change my username, how would I do that?

I'm also waiting eagerly to see some changes, but I know
that there are people doing this, and humans can sometimes be involved with other things in their life too,
so I just wait.
And hope.

And since I visit forum only from two places, I use
"remember me", so I don't have to log in at all.

I am indeed in the same boat. However, this is not keeping me from
visiting this forum.

I am a little shocked, though, at the fact that the Devin Townsend
homepage is still advertising a free signed poster with every order
from "Merchnow", when this is not the case.

Probably not HDR's fault, I am sure, but seems to me that a year ago,
this would have caused a small outrage, whereas now, (if you notice the
"Free poster from Merchnow" thread, No one seems to care.

But it's all good, because I have Terria, and that seems to
always make everything okay.

I posted about this ages ago. Someone said, if I remember correctly, that it was being worked on. Who was that guy and where did he go?

It's not a big time hassle, but there are many times when I come here and click a forum to look for Dev's most recent post, but I only have a few minutes. When I get the stinkin' login screen I'm just like "Ah, screw it."

Again, not a huge deal, but someone should really fix it.

Anyway I'm getting fed up with this as well. Today is my last exam, after that I think I'm going to experiment with phpBB3 for a bit, maybe if I ask nicely in time I'll be allowed to give this forum an upgrade and an attempt to fix all the nonsense. Maybe. Perhaps. I hope.

I've emailed Doug (Cybermartyr) to see where he's at re: Version 3 upgrade. Fingers crossed.

Until then, if it comes to it - I can alter people's profile details if it is a matter of life and death.

I don't have login issues. Make sure you browser isn't deleting cookies or "privacy data" whenever you close it.

I'll also lend my services to helping with the forum, if they're needed. I have a little experience with this sort of thing, and I can learn phpBB easily enough.

That's not the issue. I know about cookies, but no other site has this issue. I can't imagine my PC is delete cookies to this forum only.

Unless my PC hates me playing Devin's music all the time. Hmmm...

However: I have to use "login to check your private messages" or wtf it's called, otherwise all new posts since last visit are bye-bye. Maybe it's a cookie thing, I don't know. Not a big thing at all, but I'm afraid to change my avatar nowadays. Can I?
