Damn I cannot wait for this to come out!!! It sounds absolutely fantastic!

Still a couple months to go. I think I may have to try and freeze myself to pass the time.

Have you had a chance to hear it yet? If so, what are your thoughts?

It DEFINES epic!

It also defines the very nature of pointless filler interludes.

Still love it though!!

Hehe, true. At least some of those interludes are ok to listen to. So all in all I also think that the album is a good one. Even if you take away those interludes and maybe some songs that you don't care much for personally there's still a lot of good stuff for most people. In a way it's impressive that they put out their sixteenth album in general! And a double album at that.

I saw them live yesterday by the way and it was great. The band just defines pure heavy metal in my opinion. They played songs from all era's actually which was great. They played the intro and Prophecy from the latest one. And the song Death which was surprisingly cool in a live setting. Halford (as the messenger of Death) appeared onstage from underneath the drum riser on a throne with the reaper quickly disappearing behind him. Then he sang the whole song while sitting there and kind of "playing" the part. Cheesy and over the top but great nonetheless, hehe 8)

Awesome. When I saw them in 2005 they opened up with The Hellion then went into Electric Eye. The backdrop was this huge electric eye thing and when the dong started Rob popped through the pupil on a platform and stood there holding the mike up and sang the entire song stood like that. When a show opens with that kind of...zazz!...you just know you're in the presence of something special.

The new album I think is totally awesome. I love the production and the guitar tone. Reminds me of the guitars from Sad Wings and Sin After Sin.
And I think the interludes are cool. They add to the feel of the epicness of the whole album and they fit really well with the double-album format.

Roll on the next album!
