So im guessing theres not many Coldplay fans on this forum but ill talk about them anyway.
X&Y was a peice of crap album in my opinion and it really put me off them. However the new albums really taken me for suprprise. Its amazing! The songs have a very ambient and experimental quality to them. Theres none of the safe crap that X&Y was. Im convinced to see them live after hearing this album now. Its the best thing theyve ever done i think. have a listen if you want:

I don't know shit about Coldplay, but damn... those drums sound amazing. I've been looking for that sound for years... everyone only seems interested in ultra-clicky crap these days.

I'll check it out. I have their other albums, but I can't say I listen to them much.

Was it used in an iPod commercial or something? Because it sounded cool on the commercial.

Though I think it isn't neccessary plagiarism, it's just this melody feels so generic it could be invented five hundred times all over the world already. This song blows.

Does indeed sound best when they're both played together.
And I hardly thing it's plagiarism at all. So they have the same melody. Even if it was intentional, who cares? It's not like they stole an entire song and credited it to themselves. I think consciously or subconsciously, artist do this all the time. You hear a cool drum beat, you use it. You hear a catchy melody, you use it. No big deal.

"Good musicians borrow. Great musicians steal."
Stolen or original...I still think its a catchy-ass tune.
