Im personally afraid of 4 aminamabools:

Spiders
Snakes
Wasps
Bees

Its possibly coz theyre ugly creatures. im not sure.

Spiders are just the mose putrid looking animal ever. ugh. just seeing em makes me squeal like a little girl (someones gonna post pics im guessing. Biert? so im gonna brace myself).

I cant even go near a Snake tank because im in fear that its gonna lunge for the glass, break it and bite me.

Wasps and bees make me shit myself and i have to get out of the house and buy bug spray and drown the things in it.

please share

I hate stingy things - especially wasps and hornets, which have awful habit of checking what's inside your home. Most of bugs are bearable, though, especially if in decent size - big fuck off spiders and well, stingy things, made me bit uneasy.

Apart of that, I consider many bugs aesthetically pleasant - spiders look like some awesome piece of engineering (by ms Natural Selection, not mr Mannitou In The Skies of course). I won't post any photos to not fuel anyones phobia, but if you want, google for Salticidae family jumping spiders - they're spiders, they can jump, move like little robots and have pair of big headlamp style eyes, which feels funny if you bend down to look at them and they respond with raising their little torsos and trowing killer gaze right into your eyes. Same with moths Josiah hates - they indeed often look like some kind of hi-tech stealth airplanes :)

I guess I'm lucky living in place where nature is rather tame and doesn't annoy us with many venomous, large and menacing critters.

edit: oh crap. Look, a moth! *fixes post*

dogs, not all of them some can be pretty cool.
and i guess some other stuff i cant think of right now

I'm not scared of them but I hate mosquitoes. It's the only animal I'd kill even if I wouldn't have to.

Good thread idea SJ!
Let's see... Moths of course, and most flying insects of any notable size (ordinary fly varieties excluded; they can just be annoying). I actually don't mind some bugs, though-- Grasshoppers are cool unless they jump at my face, for example. :P Snakes I don't mind at all, I think they're amazing creatures! Could just be because I've never had any bad experiences with them (a good friend of mine owns some and lets them crawl over people, they're quite cool).

Umm... Whales! I don't swim as I am definitely not a water person, but the thought of seeing something so goddamn huge in any underwater situation just makes me panic. I'm not even kidding when I say I blame Half-Life :(

I don't like most spiders (tiny ones are ignorable), and I despise wasps and yellow jackets.
I suppose I wouldn't like a scorpion crawling on me either. :(

Man, you live in the worst place possible to hate those 4 creatures. I'd have to say I'm rattled by the same four. Namely because I work outside and there are always spiders everywhere here in Florida.

I have a healthy respect for stinging bees and wasps. I am not too bothered by bees because my Dad used to keep beehives in the garden. Wasps I don't like much, been stung a few times. Most recently would have been about 6 years or so ago when one crawled inside my jeans while I was in the toilet at my kids' school. It waited until I got back to a small classroom before it stung me on the back of the leg and I had to whip my jeans off and jump on them. Could have been much worse!

I'm not at all keen on large flying insects, so yeah big moths can make me flap a bit. Big flying carrion beetles that sound like helicopters will also have me leave a room rapidly but on the ground they're okay.

Snakes - we have some small ones in the house, they are fine. Spiders are also okay so long as they don't suddenly drop on you in a surprising manner.

Unknown slimy things touching my legs when paddling in the sea, etc... don't like that, no!

I would almost be tempted to pay to see Biert introduced to the Highland Midgie.

Yup' Europe is nice concerning bugs. Nothing too big, no snake unless you live near some pile of rocks or something.

A shame that wasps sting, cuz' I think they're beautiful, pretty cool black and yellow exo-skeleton.

Spiders are freakin' ugly. The biggest in my home are about 2 or 2,5 inches large (legs included) and are just basic home spiders (nothing like the ones you'd find in Australia) that are probably even more afraid of me than I'm of them, but they're ugly and run fast.

I also hate centipede. Well they're just 1 inch long around here, but they're creepy. When you think some are 12 inches long ?! WTH !! :chain:

I also hate dogs. Or more likely the stupid owners who think their dog "is sooo niiiice, he won't bite". I got bitten once. I used to pass in front of a farm on my bike. I was riding slowly cuz' I was looking at the big tractors^^. The dog was here or not, never attached, but pretty inactive and "obviously" not aggressive. I passed in front of the farm countless times, until one day, when that stupid creature decided to have a taste of my leg. The bite didn't hurt, it was just a quick bite, but was deep enough to reach the upper layer of flesh or something, and bleeding (I still have a scar, it's been 8 years I think). I learned later that the dog had already bitten someone a few years before. Damn I should have suited the guy, he's a big farmer I could have make some money. As they did tests to see if it could be affected by rabies, the dog had "as by chance", been hit by a car (which mean the farmer probably shot the dog). I'd be a politician you'd be fined for sure for leaving your dog walk freely.
Oh and now the offspring of that dog is keeping the farm, never attached.

I'm almost scared of cats since I've seen that video on youtube, with a cat going berserk around the leg of the guy holding the damn thing. Sometimes they look at you with a determined look and you really wonder what they have in mind.

When I was around 13, my grandparents and I took a road trip across Canada coast to coast. We stayed in alot of small town, funky motels.(my favorite part of a trip, wierd motels where you'd meet other kids only once in your life, eat endless buffets and watch strange TV shows on a vibrating bed)
Anyhoo, someswhere in Michigan we prepared to bunk down in this motel that looked like it was made of antlers.
My Grandad flipped me the keys to our room and loaded me down with crap and off I went to open it up.(sacred duty)
I got to the room, opened the door and went in, the door closing behind me.
It was dark and I dropped the suitcases and such to look for a lamp. I was whapped in the face by a heavy, fluttering sumthing!!
I tried to get to a lamp and felt myself being pelted by freaky creatures I couldn't see.
I stumbled to the door and couldn't find the knob. I found the light switch, though and flipped it on.
The room was FULL of flying freaking, JUNE BUGS!!!!
They were bumbleflying everywhere!!!There must a been a thousand of 'em!!! Flying into everything, heavily.
I freaked and ran out.
We didn't stay there! June bugs are just flying, bumbling beatles but I'd never seen so many in one place before or since.
Didn't quite give me a phobia but I still remember those sticky bumps in my face and body in the dark. That, I don't want to repeat!
