I find this clip while perusing youtube the other day. It's a highschool (!) kid playing an acoustic guitar solo, and he ends up layering on top of himself with some beats, and the result is really, really beautiful.

Wow, cool.
I envy people who can play guitar.

xD
I'll give you a little nudge to this thread though for next time:

I really have been enjoying the new generation of young, interesting acoustic guitar players that've been surfacing over the last few years.
Kinda started with Justin and Kaki King, who are not related as I understand it.) The style has just kinda exploded from there, right up to August Rush.
Sure, a lot of it is just based around delay effects and open tunings, but it sounds really cool.
I should learn to ACTUALLY play guitar, instead of just, like, buying guitars all the time.

This reminds me in some ways of "White Summer" (Jimmy Page). My roommate used to be a total Zeppelin fanatic, and so he's got everything Page has ever played down to a science. It's pretty cool, I must say.
I think the "effects" revolution of acoustic music is pretty awesome. It's not all that new of a sound, but like you said, it's cool as beans.

Those 2 are great guitarists, as is Andy McKee who has a similar style.
This style really started with people like Michael Hedges...
